The VWL & WL decorations were beautiful. We made the right choice of resort for this trip for sure. Hot cocoa every night added to the ambiance.
Our room was not as clean as it could have, or should have been. Won't go into details and I'm chalking it up to one of those off rooms, even though they had till 1am to get it right
We own there and will always love it so no need to go on..........unless this becomes the norm.
We checked out the model rooms of SSR. They are very nice! We went to DTD only for a few hours one night so no glimpse of the progress. They are still saying June 1st.
The crowds were very light most of the week. We were so very lucky to get to see the "special" at MK for Mickey's 75th B-day surprise. And to see Eisner in person, sort of. He was obviously there because he had to be, and it was very obvious this celebration was a PR stint and only for the media, guests were more of in the way. But who cares, the 75 statues are BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!! They will be there for a "while" and we got many stories of their length of stay before they are auctioned off. Anyone who can see them, you will be glad you did. And on the 18th they released 3 commemerative pins for the event, limited edition, 3000 each. Got all 3!
All cm's were terrific as usual. Every now and again there is a cm who needs their ears pulled, but 99.9% of the time they are all terrific and this trip was 100%. We even had some memorable conversations with some.
We usually go for counter service or in the villa for most meals and we ate out more than usual this trip, but man was it bad! And coffee??? I had heard, but thought people were exagerating............they're not! What is it with greasy, dripping with grease food? And everywhere we ate fries they were loaded with salt. In the past I had promoted the Dolphin for their pizza, sorry, it was horrible this time. We vowed not to eat off property this trip(even BK) and to eat in the room less, but next trip we won't take the chance, it really was bad, except for the usual burger(w/o fries) and the chicken wrap at Peco Bill's which was REALLY good. They really need to adopt more "healthy" choices. Carrots instead of fries does not cut it. They should offer a salad of some sort at EVERY window. Or a stir fried or steamed entry as an alternate. Even Lotus Blossom Cafe was twice disappointing this trip. I love lo mein and string beans, but first time I have ever had lo mein with string beans let alone almost no other veggies commonly found in lo mein. Stupid things like that.
First time ever, we had a problem with our reservation w/National. Didn't notice till DH gave me the slip on the plane 1/2 way home but the charge had gone up quite a bit. Took care of it back at National in our local airport and all should be fine. Read about some probs over on the transportation board but thought it was Alamo. Word to the wise, check your receipts no matter which company and bring a copy of your contract.
Oh, and wishes, what a magical presentation! It ranks right up with Epcot's and MGM's fireworks shows. First time we saw it and we stood out by the Mickey & Minnie topiary to the right of the castle. Next night we watched it by the boat rental dock at WL and we both thought it was as good if not better except for the music. So for those who hate to fight the crowds to get out afterwards it's worth it to view from the nearby resorts.
All I can think of for now, any questions ask away.
