Hi
We have just returned today from DLP via eurotunnel and thought I would just post our experiences on the roads. Looking at some other posts I think we were very lucky.
We travelled down Sun morning and arrived in Calais to heavy falling snow which wasn't pleasant to drive down in. However all credit to the French - we played spot the snow plough and gave up as there seemed to be one along every couple of minutes! The roads kept moving althought the journey took 5 hours at 30-40mph!
Monday morning we woke to about 5 inches of snow and thought we wouldn't make the parks as we were staying 15 mins away but the roads weren't too bad (the French obviously just get on with life and the roads had been cleared with the amount of traffic). Once on the A4 the snow ploughs had obviously done their work and things were fine.
We were travelling back today and worried when we heard that there was 4inches of snow forecast last night. Tried to get earlier booking on eurotunnel but they were fully booked so went to bed with visions of spending Christmas day in the Ibis hotel!!
Luckily DLP seemed to miss the snow - think is was just east of us - and managed to drive back fine today. Got an earlier eurotunnel booking by phoning them on route up the A1.
All in all we had a lovely time - sorry to hear about others who weren't as lucky.
