Just Back! USE TGMIKE!! It WORKS!

Thanks for the information. I am thinking about getting it but not sure which trip I would need it for. I think during May there would be more crowds to contend with and two children (ages 6 & 3) but then again in September we will be traveling with 2 mothers who are in their late 60's.... Hmm, what would you recommend. I have heard that September the crowds are very light and maybe we wouldn't have to worry so much and also our mothers are not going to be riding on alot of rides...any input would be appreicated!

I wouldnt go with the expectation that all of Sept. will be low crowds - basically if you plan on it being crowded, you will be prepared, or pleasantly surprised!! (we went first week of Oct last week, it was very HOT HUMID and CROWDED!!)

cant help you with your plans with TGM - just thought I'd chime in!!

I also have a question about TGM ... we have been to WDW a bunch. Does TGM work for people who are late risers and doen't go to EMH's? Can you customize what you want to do and don't want to do?

Thanks!

I wasn't asking anyone to divulge any information. I'm planning on buying it......I just wanted assurance that the December touring days would be online soon (by the time I wanted to make dinner reservations).
I think the current TGM best days list goes out to October. Not sure when Dec is going up.

It would be interesting to discover how many times the typical TGM user has visited WDW. We have been to WDW more than 20 times and sometimes feel we can write a book on various theme park strategies. I have talked to many who have said that TGM has much valuable information. I am sure it does to a person who has never been to WDW or who has only been a few times. However, how valuable is it to an experienced visitor? I am always looking for good tips and budgeting tools such as those we get first hand here at the DIS.

Would it be worth the 20 or so bucks to get TGM????

Thanks

Tim/Hawk
I happen to be a DLR vet and WDW rookie, and am getting a lot out of TGM. The only indication I have of the experience level there is the TGM forums, and by that metric my sense is that there is a very high WDW experience level with TGM subscribers.

If you wonder about the value of the info to you personally, that is why TGM has a money back guarantee. Will it be more valuable to a less experienced person like me? Probably.

TGM will work better for people who get to the parks early, because any touring advice will work better for such people. TGM advice will help late risers too. Not only can you customize, but most people there in fact do customize - some use TGM's sample plans as a starting point. Many people post their custom itineraries on the forums there for review, and I always see lots of feedback from other TGMers.

Since I've never signed up before, can someone explain to me how it works. Do I go to his site and do my own research for my days at the parks? So, I still plan it myself based on when my days of my trip are, but he suggests when to go to each park? I guess I don't understand what I get for my money.

For your money, you get invaluable information! I, too, expected it to be:

1. check some boxes
2. answer some questions
3. get a step-by-step itinerary spit out of my printer.

Not so. However, I would buy Mike again in a heartbeat. His information is up-to-date and extremly useful. It took me about 3 days to get a basic plan down and now I'm just tweaking here and there. Mostly ADR's. :teeth: There is also a seperate forum for people using Mike to talk and not worry about divulging his info. Personally I think it was the best 18 bucks I ever spent. And as a previous poster mentioned, Mike offers a money back guarantee. I'd like to see the UG do that! :rotfl:

So, if I'm going in December when would I sign up?

We are going in June too, but I have our days already planned with ADRs and I tried to move CM yesterday and couldn't so I'm not sure how helpful June would be.

Thanks HydroGuy, that is what I assumed. I noticed from looking through the site that you could access Dec. 2005 touring guides if you were a member. Maybe I could start with that to help make my dining plans (based on this past Dec.). I really hope the Dec. tips from TGM come out before the 180 mark for dining because I don't know how feasible it would be to change them in that busy time of year. I'm still going to purchase it and tweak everything as things become available. Thanks :sunny:

Skipped over most of this thread to simply say,

"Shhhh!"

(I don't want any more people using it. Sorry, Mike. :cool1: )

Thanks Stitch65! I just signed up yesterday, thought the same thing as you.
And whoooooooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaa! :confused3

There is ALOT of info here to go through! TGM does CLEARLY tell you this on the first page. I am glad I signed up now for my July trip. I do think you need some considerable time with this site. My impression is that this is a whole new concept. Sort of like a tour book & this site & TGM all organized together in a orderly fashion for cyber space! :thumbsup2

It might be helpful for your June trip think how crowded it will be in June. Just because you can't switch ADRs doesn' mean it will not be helpful.

If you are going in December I would sign up now. It doesn't matter when park hours are released Mike has a lot of information on his site that you can start going through now. It will be easier to plan and make your ADRs around the 180 day mark with TGMs information.

You guys have me dying to check out TGM! However, my trip is in May, so a month away. Will I have sufficient time to plan using TGM? And, I'm just curious if this is "commando-style", rushing to get to every attraction and never taking time to stop and smell the flowers? Any advice would be helpful! :teeth:

I am thinking of using TGM for our upcoming trip in October (10/21-10/28). I wonder if I should wait till August to order or do I get any updates as they become available if I were to order now???????

Now is the perfect time to sign up for October. You are almost in your 180 day window.

After you sign up and get through some of the information, you can join the October Vacation Club in the forums over there and get even more information directly related to your month.

I don't find Mike to be "commando-style" if anything he wants you to ENJOY your vacation, not be so ragged and rundown that you can't breathe! :goodvibes I'm actually quieting down my inner commando since signing up with Mike, and I'm still going to get to do/see everything that is important to my family (now that doens't mean every single ride! It means what matters most to you!). Our trip is in May also, and I don't think it's ever too late! Obvsiously ADR changes may be a little tricky, but his touring philosophies alone are worth 18 bucks. And he'll tell you which parks to choose from on specific days which again, this alone I think is worth the 18 bucks!

I say go for it! And if you have questions, the folks on the boards there are friendly, I'm over there with the same username if you want to ask about my May itinerary, I'd be happy to share (but only if you sign up! I don't want to lose my Mike!)

Just be aware that you won't necessarily have ALL the info you need to make ADRs at the 180-day window. This is an issue that the October folks are going through now over there. Many people are well into their windows and haven't been able to make ADRs based on his "best days" advice because he hasn't posted those days yet. He hasn't yet completed them.

There is some frustration in being told over and over that he has another successful business that he has to tend to first before he can concentrate on posting the info for online subscribers. If you can get past that and be a little patient, the info will eventually be posted and should be very accurate and helpful, or so I've been told (first-time subscriber here).

I still have high hopes for some good advice that will help us plan a stress-free trip! :)

I will never go back to the Mouse House without Mike!! I first used his plans last May for Star Wars Weekend and it was fabulous. We knew just where to sit in the various attraction auditoriums for the best views. Found out about shortcuts thru some of the parks. And just knowing what day to go to each park was worth its wight in gold. It was our best trip ever.

When we got back, I signed up for a Dec., 2007 trip. LOL Well, I've recently changed it to Dec., 2006 so I could make my plans for this year. I'm also going in August (Free Dining!!) and have so far joined both the Aug. & Dec. Vacation Clubs! And I will be signing up for my Dec., 2007 trip as soon as I return from my New Year's Eve jaunt this year!! :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :cheer2:

I am a newbie and highly recommend TGM. Just got back yesterday from our trip and definitely believe TGM made it all that much better for us. I wish I had found him much earlier so that I could have planned better. It definitely takes a few days just to figure out the navigation as it does have SO MUCH information. But once you have it figured out, you can really nail down your plans. Just the daily park advice re: crowd levels is well worth the cost.

Any advice for my family since we'll be going in June. We already have our ADR's and only want to hit certain rides. Is TGM's itinerary include all rides or is it based on what our family specifically wants to do? I guess I'm not sure how this whole thing works but everyone's got my curiosity up. Also, I wonder if I could change my ADR's since our trip is in June already.
