I still can't believe this happened to us!!!! Wait until you hear it!!!!! I don't care what anybody says: FAX THE ROOM ASSIGNER!!!!!
Checking in at 8:30 pm on 4/2. I don't like checking in late, because I think the earlier you check in, the better chance you have to change things if you aren't satisfied (just me!), so I was kind of set up for disappointment already.
We had 7 people (4 adults, 3 kids) confirmed in two connecting rooms at CR through SOG at $89 per room per night. THRILLED with that already! I faxed the room assigner a nice letter, saying this was a special 3-generation trip for us, and how I was hoping to get a first floor room, to have the patio for my parents to use, since they weren't doing the "commando" thing like we do. I had also noted these requests twice when calling SOG directly, but figured what the heck!
So we check-in, and my father gives the girl his confirmation slip. She looks at it, pounds a bunch of keys, and says: "Hhhhhhmmmmm". I immediately say "what's wrong??" So she says, "your confirmation says two connecting rooms, but that's not what I'm showing you've been assigned." I'm already rolling my eyes when she says: "I show you in a two-bedroom suite instead." My mouth fell open, and I just looked at my Dad. Then, when the girl said "I'd better go check this with my manager" my father and I looked like a bad Laurel and Hardy movie: we both put our hands out and said "Nnnnnnnoooooooo, you don't need to do that!"
Anyway, she checked, and we were, indeed in a TWO-BEDROOM SUITE overlooking the marina and the Bay. It was absolutely awesome, and at 10 pm when the water parade came right past one of our TWO balconies, I knew I was in heaven!!!!!!!
Morale of my story: FAX THE ROOM ASSIGNER and BELIEVE!!!!!!!
