Just back last night from our trip.
Flew out of Detroit 12/6 at 6:45 AM--got there at 4:45 and did curbside checkin, no problems. The security line wasn't too long. BEWARE-I have had friends tell me that later in the morning Detroit is a madhouse.
No problems in Atlanta either way. The security line was really long at Orlando yesterday, but they had 10-12 people working it so it moved pretty quickly (at 4:30 PM). We had time to sit down (at the airport burger king--yuk!) and eat, then go to the gate at 6 and they were already loading 1st class (which we aren't!
) so our timing was perfect.
TTC picked us up right away on the 6th even though we were about 1/2 hour late and I had to stop at airport TDS and buy my AP (which took 10 min.)--driver's name was Luis (sp?_) and he was really nice. They did, however, have us down for the van--I had not booked the van and only had budgeted $90 with coupon and tip for trip to the Poly. I thought we just had the van because it was there (we got it once last June and didn't ask for it). He took the $ for the car.
On the way back to the airport the guy at the Poly concierge had called and changed us to a 4PM pickup--we got to the Poly at 4:02 after the snowglobe parade, but they had told him 3:30, poor guy! He waited patiently while we got bell services and all changed into jeans (it was 30 in Detroit, 82 in Orlando!) and took us back to the airport. His name was Marcello.
No prob. with Disney transport. Used the monorail to go to MK and Epcot, and the bus to MGM. Walked from MGM to Epcot. Took the boat from MK to WL to see the decorations.
