i wrote all this out yesterday but for some reason it didnt take and i didnt feel like doing it again....but im going to attempt it one more time:rotfl:

went sunday-tuesday this week and overall it was a really good trip...the weather was really nice except for monday...i actually had to put pants on mid day because it got too cold for me...sunday i got a bit of a burn but it turned into tan so im good with that...tuesday i did wear pants but it was a nice day...not too hot nor too cold

as far as crowds go...tuesday was by far the most crowded of all 3 days which was really weird to me...none of the days were grad nite days...sunday was packed almost from get go and it went all day till after the last showing of F! then nothing..everything died out and we got right on several rides straight away....monday the crowds werent bad at all imo...but tuesday...sheesh...it started out really nice..low impact but as the day progressed it got worse and even at 11pm SM had a 110 min wait...we watched 2nd show of WOC and then went over to DL thinking it would be really mellow but not a chance....didnt clear out till park closed....

did mad T party for about half hour...wanted to be able to get an idea of exactly what it was like and it was nice but seriously this thing is more for teenagers and YA...perfect place to let them have some freedom....

ate at jolly holiday bakery and had the roast beef sandwich...oh my was that ever good...loved every bit of it...tried the punch but wasnt impressed at all...i like my punch way better....ghiradelli was good as usual...im only 2 hours from SF so I can get it when I go there and it tasted just as good except for 2 things.. we got the cookie sundae and it was really small and the price was like $9...it was in a cup the size of one of those baja coolers...tasted amazing but sheesh its expensive....and 2. very VERY limited seating and only outside...it doesnt look ANYTHING like the real ghiradelli and i think somewhere on here i read someone saying it does...not a chance

I was able to ride Lilly Belle on monday and our conductor told us some great stories along with some things about CL that i already knew...he told us about the parking situation for the cm's on the 17th and 24th and said that all of the cm's have been told that if they want to take any of their vacation this summer that they have to do it before next week because after that NOBODY gets vacation...they hired 2k employees just for CL alone

on monday i went up to the blue sky cellar and looked over into CL and the cm's and their families were there walking around and the rides were going...i could hear the music...looks really good....from outside the park where the mountains are they have them all papered or boarded up and you cant see anything at all...you just can make out the shape thats it....

i had a very interesting thing happen to me on tuesday night...early in the day we got FP to 2nd show of WOC and got blue....about half hour before the first show started we went to a cm and they told us that blue second show would be lining up in a queue different from where they lined up at the first show but she wasnt exactly positive where that would be...just gave us the general vicinity....so we went and sat midway and when they started putting up the ropes for the queue we went and asked another cm same question..this time we were told they would line up by the golden winery and as long as we were there about 9:30 we would be fine...so we stayed where we were and waited...well i noticed a crowd forming a little bit aways from me but not down by the winery so I asked a cm if that was for blue and he said no definitely not but guess what???? it was:headache:...all of a sudden all of these people came rushing up to the beginning of the rope and thats when I realized they were where i was trying to be...so i went over to the ropes (which btw were mostly down i would say about 3 inches from the ground) and i lifted the rope so my daughter could go under and out of the blue this WOC cm manager came flying at me screaming his head off (and i am not exaggerating when I say this) and I was shocked and taken aback at his screaming at me so i just looked at him like this:eek: and then said omg ok calm down...well he didnt...he went psycho and lifted the rope and told me AND my party to pretty much get out!!! that did NOT sit well with me at all and I said to him that he had no right to scream at me in such a manner and as many times and as long as I have been to DL, I have NEVER been treated that way by any CM and especially by a manager....well his entire demeanor changed as well as the look on his face and he explained to me that many people have gotten hurt going under the rope and in turn I said, I completely understand that and respect that but that still didnt give him any excuse to yell at me the way he did and he apologized...I then informed him of why i went under the ropes in the first place (due to all the misinformation on where to line up and let him know how long I had been waiting there so I could get first in line) so again he apologized and asked me how I would like to be first in line and I said yes thank you::yes:: so he took me and my party and walked us to the front of the line and I thought it was done...over...but it wasnt...he then came back and asked me where I wanted to be at and I told him as close as I could get so he said he was going to get one of the leads to escort us down to an area that only about 20 of us were at...it was a reserved area and the lead took us before he even took the rest of the people waiting in line and said Charlie (that was the mgr name) told him to make sure and take care of us....so heres what Im thinking...I think this mgr has had some issues before and may be on the verge of getting suspended or even worse??? and when he stopped being psycho for a minute and realized what he had done he was scared because once he said sorry I was fine...but he wouldnt let up...kept coming over to us and keeping us informed of how and when things were going to be happening ...it was a trip but i got an AWESOME spot for it...nothing obstructed at all...:lmao:

good trip all in all...im glad i decided to go when i did and not wait for the insanity thats about to hit...im staying far away from there this summer...my plans are to give it a minute and come back right after crowds die down from Thanksgiving when its calmed down a bit and before it gets crazy again for christmas.......

Well,
I haven's seen the ghirardelli's square restaurant for California Adventure--but I wouldn't expect it to be the same as in San Francisco. I actually use to work there in college (we lived in S.F. for 15 years, and bought our first home there)--but am still looking forward to it.

As far as the line up situation for world of color--that sounds typical. The CM who yelled at you was probably just trying to do some crowd control--controlling the people who do lift the ropes to let their kids/family through but shouldn't be doing it. I have seen that so much, and am always grateful that at least they try. Although I know it can be frustrating to realize you were told the wrong place to be waiting! Been there, done that!

So where was your perfect spot?? I've seen it a few times and want to keep trying new spots.

Glad the manager made it right!!

Hello. We were there Sat-Mon. Totally agree with you about the sundaes. Our order was close to $50 and the sundaes were pretty small.

We did even try WOC this trip. I just had going through all that trouble. We did see F! though.

Glad you had a good time! I doubt we will do another June trip. Jan. is more our style!

This part just made my day. Pants! How did you get away with walking around in Disneyland in just a shirt? :rotfl2:

Ok, I'm sorry. It's apparently past my bedtime.

Thanks for the report Lynn, hope to get there in August. Nice to see you posting here again.

She wore pants on Tuesday, though, so it's all good. ;)

JK. That's pretty cool that the manager changed like that. It's okay for CM's to be stern with people, but yelling is not cool.

Congrats on riding the Lilly Belle!
