What do you mean when you say "extract"?

When you say "however you see fit", that sounds like you would consider taking the law into your own hands. Not sure if that's exactly what you mean?

Depends on the situation. Since it appears that WDW CMs or security are powerless to do anything to anybody based on what I've read here I guess we're all on our own. Yee ha! :grouphug:

His posting explains the type of person he is. I would not worry about his insults to teachers & government workers. He may have a Masters but he is lacking some serious common sense.. and he should be thanking a teacher for his education instead of throwing insults..

Shall we just call a mule a mule? I'll put up my MA and teaching for 30 years "at risk" kids in a huge high school too against his ***-n-9 logic. I hope he has enough common sense to know how to either use the phone book or Google for a good attorney when he is sued for man (boy) handling someone. Once in while I have had to explain to my students what "ugly American" means, now I have a new example!

It looks like the REAL PROBLEM is with the Brazilian tour groups, not the "family from Alabama", or the "church group" or the Grand Gatherings tour. IT'S THE BRAZILIAN tour GROUPS that are the problem! These types of groups chant, block pathways, hog the FP tickets, and frankly are just disruptive. This type of behavior is rather offensive to many and it needs to stop. Instead of avoiding going to Disney in July and or January it needs to stop at the root of the problem. Why should people suffer through this? It's just not right. As stated before people should write to Disney and complain about this outlandish, bullish, crass behavior.

I have heard so much about these groups that I would never visit in July. I wish that Disney would escort these people out of the parks. This kind of behavior just shouldn't be tolerated.

I don't condone physical interaction either. However booing briefly or telling someone to shut up is quite a bit different from chanting endlessly. The physical bit is over the top IMO but I can't believe that a few people here are so zealously defending these groups.

I don't think it is as much that one is defending what some tour groups do, it is that somethings don't bother them as much as it bothers others. The chanting & FP situation doesn't bother me, but the line jumping is rude and Disney should be able to do something about it (Disney, not another guest). I really didn't see anyone in specific state that there is absolutely nothing wrong with all behaviors.

Though I've certainly seen these kids in the parks, I've never seen them in the hotels and this thread doesn't have a lot of horror stories about them there.

Does anyone know where these one million Brazilians a year stay when they come to WDW?

I don't think the bad behavior always comes from just Brazilian tour groups. There are American tour groups and individuals who can be just as rude and pushy.

I doubt that writing to Disney and complaining about the the behavior would change anything. All of those individuals in tour groups pay to visit the Disney parks, hotels, and restaurants, and for Disney, it's all about the almighty dollar.

Why should this surprise you? It happens in almost every thread that's the least bit controversial. That's what political correctness has given us.

I don't see it as pc. I just think people in general, and in tour groups, can be rude. I think it's more noticeable in a larger group.

First, I can't help it that certain folks can't/won't be bothered to learn what's considered acceptable public behavior AND I don't care where you're from (this country or otherwise). Here's my personal viewpoint on the topic:

1. If you push me you will be pushed back.
2. If you push or step on my wife or kids you will end up on the ground.
3. If a group comes at me like they own the sidewalk/walkway and can't possibly be bothered to move, those in my path WILL be moved.
4. If you try to cut past me in line you will be stopped by me.
5. If you try to push me out of the way at the FP machine (good luck with that) you won't like the outcome.
6. If you act civilized and can behave like you have even a small amount of sense and manners you'll find that this large, imposing alpha male/dad can be very nice and respectful.

The lesson to be learned here is that, at least from me, you'll get back the same attitude/behavior you give out. I won't be concerned about your country of origin, how you were raised or the color of your skin. At the conclusion of our interaction you WILL have a better understanding of what I find acceptable. That's my gift to the world. :cool1:

:thumbsup2 and just so you know I am a female & do the exact same thing NOW how can we stop the chanting ?

Why does this type of comment from a teacher from California not surprise me? Thank you for reinforcing what I already knew. Maybe instead of trying to insult me you should take your considerable experience and knowledge and try to say something useful. Give us some deep insight in to how to handle the out of control tour group kids since you have so much experience with shaping and controlling young minds. Say hi to Jerry Brown! :flower3:

Of course there are rude behaviors by others at Disney. Heck I wrote a Pet Peeves thread about that last year. But, what I am talking about are teens that just have no respect for others. These teens are mostly, from the Brazilian tour groups. I've seen them in action and it's not a pretty picture.

It is also Pop Warner with their cheers in the courtyard's of the hotels at all hours of the day & night, it is them doing their hair in in the food court, it is them cramming onto the bus singing their cheers.. What is the difference between a cheer & a chant? I don't like hearing them at 11pm at night because they are practicing for their competition the next day..I don't like smelling hair spray from the next table over while I eat breakfast. So it isn't only Brazilian tour groups..
The time the cheerleaders were doing their hair. I did complain to the CM. He went over and told them very nicely that there should not be any hair styling in the food court, that it wasn't sanitary. As soon as he was out of site, the Mom's started back up doing their kids hair... :sad2: American mothers with American children ... Pop Warner football cheerleaders...

I'm posting even though I know this thread will get closed, they all do.

Anyway, we just got back from a week in WDW and ITA with the OP! We actually had a very interesting conversation with a bus driver who told us that Disney knows that Americans are broke, so they are spending BILLIONS of dollars in advertising and incentive packages in South America. He said they know that's where the money is because in this economy, Americans that can still come will, for example, buy maybe 1 souvenir per family member. The Brazilian kids are here as part of their quincenara (sp?) and they are the upper class of their country, so they are being sent with a thousand dollars each (just an estimate) to buy whatever they want. We watched, and they were in every ride photo area buying multiple photos, whereas, most Americans just exit the gift shop and move on. I'm not saying this bus driver is 100% accurate in what he said, and I'm not meaning to over-generalize (just making observations,) but it makes me very sad that Disney has just come down to money and that's it. I know, I know, they're a company just like any other, but what other company would be perfectly willing to sacrifice ALL of their quality control?

We really felt so many times that the 'experience' that the Disney Organization worked so hard to create has been destroyed. The music, the themeing, etc... can't be heard or seen through all the nonsense. Our bus driver really appreciated that comment from me and encouraged me to write a letter. He said that letters written stating that Disney's core values & mission are being sacrificed will be more readily accepted than those just blaming, ranting, and complaining. So, I encourage you ALL to please write a letter. I am definitely going to! :thumbsup2

I've been there when there were American tour groups too, not sure if they were the cheerleader groups or exactly who they were, but they can be just as rude as the Brazilian groups, and the groups I've seen are usually teens or young adults.

Many of them do stay onsite. For the ones that stay offsite, they do have private buses that charter them around. They also go to the Universal Parks as well as Sea World, but you don't hear of many complaints about them in those parks either.. just seems to be Disney. Makes me wonder if it is the particular make up of the Disney guests that are doing the complaining (ie: that it is their park for their children & they paid good money to be there and don't want others infringing on their fun). As you have stated, you don't hear many complaints about them at the resorts & I don't think I have ever heard a complaint about them on the Universal sub boards... just Disney Theme Parks.. this sub board...:confused3

I know the ones I have seen were Pop Warner...it isn't only Brazilians. Can you imagine what the parks would be like if they didn't close for Grad Nights.. boy would many parents here be up in arms over teens having fun ;)
