Just Back! Thoughts Observations ETC! Pics Added!

I just got back as well, we were there at the same time! It is a great time to go, isn't it? I am glad to see someone who loves the halloween party as much as I do. We went to the parties on the 4th and 11th, and I dressed as a Tinkerbell type fairy and got some great pictures with the characters, especially Tinkerbell! I left on Tuesday just as the Halloween party was starting, it was raining pretty hard, did it clear up? Your costumes look amazing, I think I saw you guys on Main Street. I remember thinking that they were some of the best I saw at the parties. It is fun to dress up, especially when you enter the park at four and watch how the other guests respond to you. I loved the atmosphere as well, especially around the haunted mansion. The fireworks and parade were some of the best I have seen at disneyworld or land.

It rained for about an hour into the party, they cancelled the first Villain Show which worked out great, because the villains came out and mingled for twice as long, so we were able to get Cruella, the Evil Queen and Malificent at one time. The Headless Horseman did not ride for the first parade, we didn't catch the second parade but I assume he rode.

The Hallowishes fireworks are the closest of all the fireworks at WDW to the level if fireworks they have at Disneyland. Disneyland has the best fireworks I have ever seen!

Your costume was too cute!

Hello fellow louisianian:goodvibes Glad to hear you had a good trip. I noticed you said something about Pecos Bill's closing early? Why? Also, the t-shirts from the Emporium are cute. How much were they?

On party nights Pecos Bills and Columbia Harbor house closed early and signs were posted outside directing people to the Friar's Nook (Fantasyland) and El Pirata el Patico (adventureland).

The shirts were $28 each, pricey but cute, the ghosts on the shirt glow in the dark and it is covered with rhinestoes. Be careful though because they run small, mine was a large and it was very snug.

Great report Becca. Love the photos! I'm always happy to see an older girl that does the BBB. My daughter did the BBB last year at 12 too. Never too old for a Disney make-over as far as I'm concerned.

I was at the 2nd parade that night and yes the Headless Horseman did ride, it was awesome. He seemed to be going a bit slower this year so we got a picture, other years it was like he was flying by so our pictures always came out blurry.

Yes, I did notice that the horseman was at a trot rather than a gallop like last year.

I totally understand why, because last year we watched as a woman almost got nailed when she cluelessly walked out into the street.

OMG! People always doing that, walking right when the parade is coming :confused3

amazing report. Thank you for posting. We are staying at CR (my son and my first time but my husband 3rd...he stayed there for family vacation when he was young)...I keep going back and forth for GF but my son wanted to try. How was ME b/c my son wants to try it also we usually get a car service or limo but he saw it last time and asked where that bus was going. Was CR the first stop? I'm nervous using it b/c I like to be picked up and be drop off with the luggages so I can unpack and start my vacation. We are going to try to go to 2 Christmas party.

The CR was the second stop WL was the first. Still it wasn't overly long, the bus left minutes after we boarded and we didn't have to wait to claim our luggage.

DD just loves ME even over a limo or town car.

I would suggest renting a car, I just don't like relying on Disney transportation. As long as one of you rides the ME your luggage can transfer. So your husband can pick up the rental car and you and your son can ride ME and you won't have to worry about claiming your luggage. Our luggage arrived in our room within a few hours.

I hope you enjoy your stay at the CR as much as we did. I'm glad my DD insisted on staying there, because the MK view was incredible. Don't get me wrong I still love the GF for the resort experience, but wouldn't hesitate to stay at the CR again because it is so convienent.
