Just Back! Thoughts and Observations...

Wouldn't you run out of things to do on an 8 day trip. We just did 4 there and did almost everything. 5 maybe 6 at the most would have completely done it all and added downtime at the resort. With 8 I think I would get bored.

We come from the uk and got for 14 nights and need more time.

Wait Limits!!! 20 minutes was our limit for waiting for a standby line. Even though we were in the parks during the crazy busy Summer Season, we never waited more than 20 minutes for ANY RIDE whatsoever. By going at Rope Drop and using FPs we absolutely didn't wait in long lines. If we wanted to ride on Buzz Lightyear and it had a 75 minute wait, we would grab a FP and go ride the People Mover or CoP until our FP was ready.

That's my policy too, and it works like a charm.

Great report OP! Glad you had a good time. I also have the rule of thumb "never wait more than 20 minutes SB for anything." Combining that with RD every day still allows you to get most everything done.

If you were only at WDW for 4 days, I guarantee you that you didn't do "almost everything". :)

We just did 28 days in Orlando (15 in Disney parks +DQ+both waterparks+DTD +other parks)
Spending that kind of time was awesome nothing was stressful somethings broken down meh we will do it soon enough, we met everyone, saw everything, rode everything-bliss!

Thanks for sharing! It's getting me even more hyped up for our upcoming trip. Our next milestone is getting in the double digits (almost there)!

Amazing Report!!!!!!!!! I loved PoR BUT your report would persuade me to look into CBR. ThankYou for this thread :)

We were there for the exact same days, just got back last afternoon!! I have to agree with everything the OP said, we had a wonderful 10 days and also didn't have time for everything! We unfortunately had some unmagical experiences with POR, first time in many trips there but we didn't let it ruin our trip. I will write a trip report soon. So sad to be be back and can't wait to go back again!

You've made me sooo excited for our upcoming 8 night trip! :) I have a question about the parade. When you were sitting there, what was everyone else doing? Shopping? Eating? Were you actually on Main Street? Trying to figure out the best plan for the parade & fireworks. Last time we had an incredible spot, but it just seemed to happen by chance. This time we really only have one chance to see the parade so I want to make sure I do it right.

Great report! Glad you had an awesome time!

And to the PP who asked what there was to do beyond 4 days...in a period of 16 months I will have spent 29 days in WDW and I still haven't crossed half the things of my "must-do" list. If you love it like a lot of us do...there's always something new to discover!

Thank you for the great report. We're staying at CSR, so I was delighted to read your positive comments. We're early birds, so we're definitely going to take advantage of RD. Sounds like you had a fabulous trip!!! Thanks again for sharing.:)

We stayed for 10 days last time. And this is for Disney alone. Our total trip time was 22 days with Universal, Sea World and shopping. Our next trip will be 12 days at Disney and 12 at Universal's Hard Rock Hotel.

You can never run out of things to do/see/enjoy. You just take everything at a leisure pace and take time to smell the roses. Yes you ride everything more than once and see the same parades/shows but each time is totally different and special. Plus a circuit of the resorts to see even more things. One thing I didn't do that I really want to do it is going to AKL just to enjoy the views.

I could never stay for less than 10 days, I would feel rushed and cranky because I'd had to skip rides to do favorites. But to each his own and I'm sure you have a great vacation each time!

What an awesome report! thank you for sharing it! CS isn't a resort that was high on my wish list, but after reading your description, I want to stay there! Thank you for a wonderful, fun list!

I sat directly in front of the castle on the curb.... Literally in FRONT of the castle. While I sat... My husband 2 kids and my dad were in Tomorrowland riding some things and then they went shopping on main st and kept bringing me iced coffees from Starbucks because it was sooooooo hot!! I had everyone's backpacks on the curb next to me reserving their places to sit down. I had a lady move one on my backpacks so she could sit down and I had to ask her to move because I was reserving it and had already been sitting there for an HOUR by that point!!

The Electric parade went directly in front of us and the dancers were literally in front of our feet.... It was cool!!!

You will LOVE the CSR! I'm telling you building 4 in Casitas was the best spot because of the first bus stop being right there.... We always had a seat :)

What did you eat at Yak and Yeti that you didn't like?

I had the Maple Tamarind Chicken..... It had a horrible burnt sour flavor...blah. I did like the potstickers appetizer though :)
