Hi all,

I just came back this morning from a wonderful trip. I suprised my FI for his 30th b-day. We met his family and 6 nieces and newphews there!

We stayed at the Coronado Springs hotel in the Rancho's section. The hotel was great and now my favorite moderate hotel. It was a bit of a long walk to the main area but that was ok with us! It was very close to the dig site.

We never had any problems with the buses. The food court (IMO) was a bit pricey. They tack on 10% tip on each bill. I don't mind paying a tip but not for our waiter to get us drinks. We only had breakfasts there but for 2 people it ran us $28.00.

We also went to the Princess breakfast at the castle-that is a must do! We went to the Kingdom, MGM, Epcot (did Mission Space) and Animal Kingdom.

Mission Space was GREAT...although I will not do it again:( It made me VERY sick! At least I got to say I did it!!!!

All in all we had a great time-the weather was rainy, all day Saturday and Sunday (we didnt mind because it kept the crowds down) Monday was cloudy and yesterday was MISERABLE HOT SUNNY HUMID AND CROWDED!!! The crowds were out yeasterday at one point TT and RR were 120 minute waits and the fast passes were not for late at night-you would have to miss Fantasmic.

If you have any questions please ask-everything is fresh in my mind-

Missing it already!!!!!!

Welcome back!

It sounds like you had a wonderful trip.

I've never stayed at Coronado Springs, when you said that it was a long walk to the main area, how long was it?

How did the crowds seem as compared to your past trips?

I am looking forward to staying at CSR myself this upcoming October, glad to hear you enjoyed it! How were the room size, we have two booked but there is six of us (4 kids). Were the beds comfortable? We have stayed at AllStars before and I hated the beds and we have stayed at CR and LOVED their beds, but now I'm afraid the ones in CSR are going to be like ASMu. Why 10% in the food court? Don't you get your own drinks, I'm kind of confused there. Is it not like other food courts where you get your own food? I'll be skipping breakfast there if it's going to be that much, I would much rather go to a CB myself! (we are booked for Cinderella's too!)

Oh one more thing, what does FI stand for? Sorry, I am so lame, I just couldn't figure it out, lol.

may have stood for father in law but 30 is awful young. Whoever it is had a wonderful surprise!!

Fi== Fiance!

And I see Pepper Market as more of a semi full service restaurant than a food court.

That would be an excellent place to use those Connections vouchers! (for $12 or so you get a appetizer, meal drink, desert, tax and tip!)

The big question...did you do EE, or avoid EE?? Have you been to Disney in August before?? Are the crowds better or worse?? thanks

cboz111, glad to hear you enjoyed your trip despite a few less than desired things. Just wondering if you could share more about Mission Space? I am very concerned about motion sickness as well for that ride, I do ok on rollercoasters but not spinning or simulated rides.

Glad to hear you enjoyed your CSR experience. We are headed there in September and we are looking forward to it since we have never stayed there before. Did you request Ranchos or is that just where they put you? I am curious because we have been debating on which section to request. Hopefully it won't be crowded and we will be able to do that. We have heard that the Ranchos are very quiet. I know its tough but welcome back!

CSR was a wonderful place-it will be big enough for 6 people. We actually had a king size bed but got to see other rooms (through the windows). Our room did adjoin with another but we didnt need it. As for requesting the Ranchos site-no we didnt, that was what was given to us. No matter though because we actually enjoyed the walk.

The beds felt confortable to us (I was asleep as soon as I hit the pillow)! I have never stayed at any of the All Stars so I can not compare it. I will say it is my new favorite moderate resort.

The food court is NOT like the other Disney food courts! They have table side service. The hostess will take you to a table and give you silverware and a menu. The waiter will come and ask you what you would like to drink and will send you on your way to the food area. Here, you can pick whatever you would like to eat. At the end you pay for everything and they will add on a gratuity for you waiter.

The Cinderella breakfast was WONDERFUL for the little ones!

I did feel VERY sick after this-I did not get sick though (if you know what I mean)!
It was a great experience that I choose not to do again. My Fi loved it! Make sure you keep your head back and keep your eyes focused on one position. Do not close your eyes or look around. They will ask for you to push button while you are on your mission-DO NOT DO IT! This is when I got very dizzy because my eyes started to wander! Have a member of you family push your buttons for you.

I'd like to hear more about your Cinderella's Royal Table breakfast. What exactly did you have to eat? I've heard go there more for the experience than the food but my sister won't be too pleased paying that type of money and not enjoying the food.

Thanks so much!

As for the crowds

I have been there twice in August. This time was a strange trip! It was not as bad on the days it was raining but as soon as the sun came out it was the most crowded I have ever seen the place!

Make sure you get your fast passes early-they will run out of times! All in all go with a positive attitude-You will have a great time!

I would have to agree with your sister-we had fruit, danishes, eggs bacon sausage and a crepe type thing. The childern had french toast.

It is not a buffet. They will bring eveything to you on a dish and if you would like more you have to ask for it. It is for the atmosphere not the food! All in all we still had a wonderful time!

Welcome back. I'm glad you had such a great trip. Will you be writing a trip report?

Thanks for your opinion. I appreciate it. I'm trying to prepare her for the fact that this will not be gourmet food even if it is served in a castle and costs $20 per person :D . The only good thing is that since you have to pay a deposit for the meal and I've already done that, she'll only have to pay half price. Again thanks and it sounds like you had a great trip despite the crowds and rain. I'm going to go with a positive attitude and not let the crowds or rain get me down! I'm way to excited as I impatiently wait for the next two days to go by.
