Just back - Studios was a royal pain

I've never walked it.....how long does it take to walk from Epcot to DHS?

Not super long. Exit out the International Gateway and there's a path over to the resorts and DHS. It takes approximately 10-15 minutes IIRC. It's a nice walk, and if you like you can check out the resorts over there as well. At least know it's there for you as an option if the boats look crazy.

Please tell me this is all because of the final year of Osborne Lights! We are going in April and want to do a DHS day so my daughter can see the Frozen show.

It's because of the lights, never had a problem before. I was there last week and had no problems with the boats. I took the boat to DHS on Monday from Boardwalk in the morning and they made an announcement that the line was typically 1 to 1 1/2 hours at closing. They said the last boat was 10:30 so plan accordingly, otherwise you would be walking. I was leaving to go home around 11:00 so it didn't matter to me but I thought that wasn't right. They are drawing extra crowds, they should be providing transportation until everyone is out. Not everyone can walk.

(As locals) This is why we avoid the parks on the weekends. We went to the Studios last night and had no issues with anything. We arrived around 3:30 pm ... Parked with no issues. Made FP's on the way to the park. Got Tower, RnR & Star Tours with no issues. Ate at the Tune in Lounge. Watched two shows of the lights. Out by 8:30ish.

Yes. The park was busy when it started to turn dark for those coming to see the lights. Though other than that ... Nothing out of the ordinary for this time of the year as far as crowd level wise to us.

So what's the earliest they start turning people away? I also say this is ridiculous, it should be the usual first come first served approach

I think it depends on 2 things. How busy is the park + are there any private parties?? Even though I was there on a weekend, it was the addition of a private party that ate up the parking spots. That event caused the transportation issues to explode. We were turned away before 1:30 on SUN. If I had to do it again, I would go the DHS early in the morning, park, and then hop to where I want to spend the day. Then when I hop back - I have a car parked in the lot.

Thanks. Don't quite know how early in the morning is good enough, but hopefully somewhere around opening time (we'll definitely be there within the first hour and probably in the earlier part of the first hour) will be good enough
