We were at WDW Thursday 4/28-Tuesday 5/3 (4 park days). All in all it was a good trip. No real "special magic" like we have enjoyed on other trips (wouldn't want to hog it all up though :goodvibes ). We stayed five nighst at the Pop Century. I'll post detailed trip reports ASAP, but meanwhile some general observations....

1) PC is a very nice resort. We were in the '70's bldg overlooking the lake. My one complaint about PC was the pitiful food service area. There must have been 40 people in line in each of the queues every night around "supper time". On a couple of nights we hopped into the car and drove off property to find something to eat rather than waiting forever in the line. We would have NEVER considered doing this before.

1a) We did not buy a mug this time. Since we knew right away we would not be eating at the PC food court it made no sense. Saved $12! ka-ching!

2) I realy did not want to ride Stitch again (it stunk in NOvember), but whaddaya gonna do when the kiddos wanna ride? You know what? Upon further review it did not stink quite as bad as I remember from November

3) Crowds were very manageable through alll the parks we toured. By using Fast Pass we never waited in a line longer than 10 minutes for the entire trip.

4) Soarin' is awesome! What a great addition to WDW :cheer2:

5) Bus service was very good throughout, except for one occasion when our bus wrecked into another as leaving MK after Spectro Monday night

6) We did not have hoppers and did not miss having them one bit.

7) Cinderellabration... Um, momma always said if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all. Wait! I know! It sure will be great to have Cinderella's Surprise Celebration back after the HCOE! (Seriously though, I am sure lots of little girls and their families are thrilled the new show. It is just now no longer of any interest to my family. Our DD is 8 and she seemed to be a bit older than the target audience. DS5 was not impressed at all.)

8) IASW really looks great. I did not realize how dingy it had become until I saw the refurbed version. Very nice now!

9) Spaceship Earth broke down and we were stuck for 25 minutes. Finally we just jumped over the side of the car and left. We were :rotfl: when we kept hearing the announcement over again about "Your vehicle will begin moving momentarily". I like the ride, but it seems to get stuck every time I do it. Mark my words. I will not ride SE again until they do some kind of refurb (hopefully not too much of a change in theme though)

10) DS5 and I rode RnRC for the first time. All I can say is WOW! :earseek: I may have a new favorite ride in all of WDW.

I'll be glad to answer any questions ASAP, and will try to post detailed trip reports in the next couple of days.

#7) I agree completely. I dont have children YET but liked the other show because it incorporated more of the "costumed' characters, including Mickey and Minnie and they all did a "photo" pose at the end of the show. It was a great picture in front of the castle. This show doesnt have ANY costumed characters other than real actors (you know what I mean). No great photo-ops and it more or less is built to the demographic of little girls, whereas before I think anyone could enjoy it because of the comedy and characters involved.

#8) I agree completely about IASW. never realized how nice a new facade could look. I really dont notice much difference IN the ride as much as I do the load/unload areas.

Has anyone ever (well, recently) been on this attraction when it went all the way through with no stops? It seems to stop several times every time I ride it and I hear the same thing all the time from other visitors. I really love it but a dead stop in the dark is just too much for my toddler to handle so I can't take her on it until she's older now. She's fine if it's moving but otherwise gets freaked out.

Good to know Soarin' is worth it!

We like Pop too, but the food is definitely hit or miss.

I am drawing a blank ...what is IASW. :rolleyes1

Its a small world (or as my DH calls it - the ride that must not be named! - the song drives him CRAZY LOL)

*winces* Do not speak of it's name! Hideous ride!

I can't wait to go on Soarin' though! I do have a question though, my mom can't really stand alot of swaying a stuff, you know like Teacups or Star Tours. I heard someone else mention on the site that it has motion sickness signs on Soarin'. Is it really bad or should I just tell my mom to take a peppermint! :rotfl:

Last Thursday night(EMH) my son rode SE before leaving Epcot. I expected it to stop but it never did. I always assumed to stopped to load/unload someone in a wheelchair.

Soarin' is nothing like ST... the "swaying" is extremely gentle! I can't imagine her getting sick on that one!

I'm glad to hear that IASM is open & looking good. It's been about 30 years since I've riden it & my children will do it for the 1st time this weekend. TOTALLY looking forward to it EVEN if I hum the tune for the 10 days I'll be there. It's a price I'm willing to pay!!! :rotfl2:

Soarin' sways maybe just a little. I suspect that the motion sickness warnings come from the odd feeling some may have as they feel like they are flying/ hang-gliding over various CA sites.

I won't say more, but my family really liked the ending. Soarin' was the only ride we turned right back around and got on again. We did it first thing and figured (correctly) the lines would be long later in the day.

DH and I spent 3 days in the parks on our recent honeymoon. We did Epcot on Wednesday, the 27th, and the crowds were completely manageable. We fastpassed everything and got to do all that we wanted. When we went to Magic Kingdom, however, on the 28th, the crowds were insane. Even with the fastpass we had to wait 4 hours to ride spalsh mountain. Also when we returned with the passes, it took about 20-25 minutes to get on the ride. We were so fed up after that that we just left the park. On Friday we went to MGM which was crowded but again manageable. We did all the rides we wanted and escaped before the influx of Friday night people. I love Magic Kingdom but just couldn't take that crowd, anyone else have that problem?

I've heard recent reports that Splash Mountain in MK has been very dirty, etc. Did you notice any of this?

If it was dirty I didn't really notice it. It seems like when I am riding Splash Mountain I am always looking for some new detail. I have never noticed the dirty state of Splash Mountain like some others have reported. Maybe its just me. My wife says I can be conveniently unobservant sometimes :confused3 :teeth:

We also loved Soarin and got stuck on both or last trip in SE! My dd6 thinks its part of the ride now!

But I have to disagree about the new Cinderella show. We LOVED it! It made me cry. Okay I'm a sucker and a whimp but we loved it. dd's 6 & 8 were thrilled with it and then we went straight from the show into the castle to eat with them all! couldn't have been a better day. Pixie dust all around

I didn't notice Splash Mountain being dirty either, seemed fine to me and DH. It always amazes me how clean the parks are kept considering the amount of people that go through them day in and day out.

Yeah, I am sure lots of folks enjoy the Cinderellabration show; glad you and your princesses do. I can see some of the magic in it. Not that I am angry the show changed or anything, but I sure do miss the comedy and laughter of the "old" show.

DW and I kept thinking how it would be better if they added a scene to the end of Cinderellabration in which Mickey and all the gang were invited to share in the festivities. But I guess it would be the same as CSC then :goodvibes .
