We were at WDW Thursday 4/28-Tuesday 5/3 (4 park days). All in all it was a good trip. No real "special magic" like we have enjoyed on other trips (wouldn't want to hog it all up though
). We stayed five nighst at the Pop Century. I'll post detailed trip reports ASAP, but meanwhile some general observations....
1) PC is a very nice resort. We were in the '70's bldg overlooking the lake. My one complaint about PC was the pitiful food service area. There must have been 40 people in line in each of the queues every night around "supper time". On a couple of nights we hopped into the car and drove off property to find something to eat rather than waiting forever in the line. We would have NEVER considered doing this before.
1a) We did not buy a mug this time. Since we knew right away we would not be eating at the PC food court it made no sense. Saved $12! ka-ching!
2) I realy did not want to ride Stitch again (it stunk in NOvember), but whaddaya gonna do when the kiddos wanna ride? You know what? Upon further review it did not stink quite as bad as I remember from November
3) Crowds were very manageable through alll the parks we toured. By using Fast Pass we never waited in a line longer than 10 minutes for the entire trip.
4) Soarin' is awesome! What a great addition to WDW
5) Bus service was very good throughout, except for one occasion when our bus wrecked into another as leaving MK after Spectro Monday night
6) We did not have hoppers and did not miss having them one bit.
7) Cinderellabration... Um, momma always said if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all. Wait! I know! It sure will be great to have Cinderella's Surprise Celebration back after the HCOE! (Seriously though, I am sure lots of little girls and their families are thrilled the new show. It is just now no longer of any interest to my family. Our DD is 8 and she seemed to be a bit older than the target audience. DS5 was not impressed at all.)
8) IASW really looks great. I did not realize how dingy it had become until I saw the refurbed version. Very nice now!
9) Spaceship Earth broke down and we were stuck for 25 minutes. Finally we just jumped over the side of the car and left. We were
when we kept hearing the announcement over again about "Your vehicle will begin moving momentarily". I like the ride, but it seems to get stuck every time I do it. Mark my words. I will not ride SE again until they do some kind of refurb (hopefully not too much of a change in theme though)
10) DS5 and I rode RnRC for the first time. All I can say is WOW!
I may have a new favorite ride in all of WDW.
I'll be glad to answer any questions ASAP, and will try to post detailed trip reports in the next couple of days.
