We just finished a visit to the parks. We stayed at SoG and VWL.

I was so pleased with SoG... (I'm picky too...didn't really like POR even). We were in the new section, the rooms are huge--we put up a 2 person pup tent in the area between the beds and the balcony for my 2 boys to play and sleep in! Bathroom is 2 rooms, bigger than my master bath! It was very quiet and relaxing, lobby beautiful. Quick walk to Poly, we rode monorails and sat on the beach to watch fireworks and/or the water pageant most nights.
Dixie Stampede Christmas Show is fabulous!!! My boys loved it, and the manger scene they did was superb with 3 wisemen on camels, angles from the ceiling, etc.. I'm not a big animal show person (will not go to circuses) but this was nicely done and very impressive. 3 generations of folks loved it.
Beaches 'n Cream is so cute! Will eat there again and again.
Whispering Canyon my new favorite too...
Biergarten still fabulous.
DH and DFIL LOVED the Segway tour....adults also loved the CP!! Lou Diamond Phillips Great!

Skip the restaurants at SoG. The buffet is reasonable $8/adult and not BAD (No atmosphere, stale pastries, just blah all around), but save the $ and just eat at the express place near the buses or venture elsewhere. It took us 2 mornings to figure that out. Evergreens is just horrible! Pizza tastes worse than frozen and my hubby found a dead fly in his beer! All the video games were shoot 'em up kind, very sports bar atmosphere...I felt out of place w/ kids there.
Food at Dixie Stampede is mediocre, but the show is worth it.
Wishes is better than Holiday Wishes...guess we'll just have to head back after the Holidays, eh?
MVMCP was rained out pretty much, I went with just DH...would only go back with the kids...not enough for just us to do. The lines were empty!
