Just got back yesterday. Had a great time and thought I would give a quick review:

Teppan Edo - B+. Food was good, but our chef wasn't very interactive with us.

Akerhus Princess breakfast -- A. Loved the fresh fruit. Princesses were Belle, Aurora, Snow White, Ariel and Cinderella (we were surprised by that one).

Kona (dinner) - A. Good food, awesome dessert!

Spoodles - B-. Food just ok, server was SLOW -- our food came out a little on the cool side, so food may have been better if it was hotter.

Whispering Canyon Cafe - A+. Skillet was good as always and we had great server!

Tutto Italia - A. This was a last minute addition. I had a salad that was awesome. Server was very attentive and helpful.

Chefs de France - B. Service a little slow, food just ok.

Fultons - A. Service was excellent and my husband and daughter loved the Alaskan King Crab claws!

Le Cellier - A+ Food and was excellent!

Let me know if you have any questions!

thanks for the quick reviews...one question would be what did you think of the hot food at Akershus breakfast? Have seen a few reviews that the hot food wasn't very good - like to hear your take on it.

Thanks for the reviews - in less than a week, I'll be trying many of the same places you enjoyed.:cool1:

To catne:

We thought it was pretty good. We had a total of 6 people. Me, my husband, two daughters, and my mom and dad.

My mom and dad both loved the potatoes. I had a little bit of eggs and some of the potatoes and they were both good. I don't eat bacon or sausage, but it looked like the bacon and sausage from any restaurant at Disney!

We have eaten breakfast at the castle and my husband said Akerhus was hands down the best one.

thanks, Indismom...good to hear a positive review of it. Akershus is on our list of places to try in the future, and the debate is breakfast or dinner. I'm thinking we'd prefer trying it for breakfast.

What was the menu for the Akershus breakfast? Was the fruit on the buffet section? My DH doesn't eat eggs, so I'm hoping there is some cereals, pastries and breads that he can get. Thanks.

On the buffet there was fruit and pastries. They also had smoked salmon and bagels. If I remember correctly they also had yogurt and granola.

On the hot tray there was eggs, potatoes, bacon, and sausage.

I didn't eat much of the hot things (just a little bit of the eggs and potatoes) and I had plenty to eat of the items off of the buffet.

Hi. Sounds like you had a good time. Can you elaborate more on Akershus? We are going in Nov. and while eating in the castle would be "magical" I am paying OOP and my princess is not bent on having to see Cindy she prefers Sleeping Beauty so I am thinking Epcot would be OK. Do you have any pics from your trip there? Thanks for the feedback.

When you arrive at Akershus you check in and then are able to walk around a bit at Norway until they call your name. You then go in and get your picture taken with Belle -- we got 2 pics because there was 6 of us. You are then seated at your table. They bring the pictures to you table later.

We were seated in the first room the princesses visit, so we didn't go up to the buffet right away. I think my oldest daughter missed seeing one of the princesses because she was up at the buffet. The princess came back a few minutes later for a picture though.

I do have to say I felt sorry for the tables that were near the buffet as it was crowded and I felt like we were standing over them in line for the buffet.

The inside of the restaurant really does look a bit like a castle and my pictures came out very nice. The only pictures I have are my kids with the princesses, and I don't like to post their pics on the internet.

We have done the castle breakfast once and the Akershus twice and really prefer Askershus.

In our opinion the pros to Askershus:
1. While waiting to be called there are things to look at.
2. It's cheaper
3. The food was better -- more choices because of the buffet
4. Easier to book!
5. If your kids just want to see the princesses and can live without the castle experience -- we think this is the way to go.

Can you please provide a more detail review on Fulton? I'm glad your family gave it an A.
thanks

This is by far my husband and daughter's favorite restaurant and we make a reservation each time we go to WDW.

I know there are a lot of mixed reviews, but we have never had a bad experience in the 4 times we have gone.

As I said earlier, my husband and oldest daughter ordered the Alaskan King Crab claws and loved them! I had the chicken that was pretty good. My youngest daughter ordered the grilled fish off of the kids meal and loved it.

I think my mom had a salad and snapper and said it was very good. My dad had prime rib (don't ask me why he ordered prime rib at a seafood restaurant!) and said his was very good also.

We had a window seat on the first floor and loved looking out over the water and Downtown Disney.

Our waiter was extremely attentive. My husband asked for more drawn butter for his crab claws and instead of just bringing a small dish, the waiter brought him a a small pitcher that had plenty in it. I never had to ask for a refill, the food came out very quickly and was piping hot.
