Just back...serious housekeeping issues at BLT..........

For anyone who has addressed these issues in the past with the DVC satisfaction team, what was their response like? I don't know from experience but I would think they are immune to these complaints. Do you think I should be getting the name of the manager of BLT and/or the head(manager) of housekeeping? They have probably become indifferent over time also..............

They play their part and try to make you feel better. Sometimes there is evidence of a follow through, other times you can tell that they are just giving lip service.

Everyone's mileage will vary but I have never had a problem at Disney or a DVC resort that was not resolved completely to my satisfaction.

Of course what will satisfy me, might not satisfy someone else.

I have never had to contact Member Satisfaction over a resort issue, it has always been dealt with at the time.

We never received a satisfactory response from anyone at Contemporary/BLT regarding our housekeeping issue last Decemebr during my DD's wedding. The only reason we got anything at all was becuase we got the Wedding Planner and DVC involved in the issue.

I got more names of people during that episode and BLT never admitted fault at all and would have done nothing if they had the final say.

OP here again. Member satisfaction just called me. First off they asked me if I asked for a room change or contacted housekeeping. Explained that problems unfolded over the course of the stay. He did not have much to say other than he would contact the resort manager and note in my file that on my upcoming stays at AKL and VGC that rooms should be inspected prior to my arrival. (not sure how that is enforced or seen by anyone.......) Really felt like another poster said that I was just given lip service. Would be surprised if my comments went anywhere. How do we get this improved?

Wow that's lame...shouldn't all rooms be "inspected" (at least by Mousekeeping) prior to any guest's arrival? I mean, either they cleaned it or they didn't.

The last time that we had a VIP cleaning and inspection our room wasn't ready until 7:30 and we checked in at 1:00. Sometimes special treatment isn't what it's cracked up to be.

I found house keeping at BLT great whenever we have had an issue. Any problems were fixed straight away after a call.

Yes they do make mistakes and their not perfect, but they can't do anything if you don't tell them about problems. Waiting until you get home is a bit late. It doesn't help you.

I got a call yesterday afternoon, too. Got the same lip service. "I'll talk to the housekeeping manager at BLT".... yada, yada, yada. Perhaps witholding our dues until this is fixed would get their attention? :sad2:

I know, I know. Not a realistic option. Still, it just stinks to be forking over dues for 650 BLT points and then getting shoddy housekeeping in return.

I have to say that the many times we have been to different dvc resorts(SSR,OKW,BCV,AKV), i felt the rooms were clean. yes the couch was very worn looking at BCV, and once the OKW had a sofabed that was clearly broken, however this past august we stayed at the Hilton vacation club at seaworld and it was not even close to the quality and service we have come to expect at Disney. we found ourselves saying over and over "this would never happen at Disney!". So yes there are the occasional issues but overall the disney quality and service is so much better than any other chain i've experienced.
we are staying at BLT for the first time in april. Hope it's the same great disney experience.

DVC is the only time share I have ever stayed in that allows early check in. We never get into others before 3pm and do not have the housekeeping and maintenance issues seen in some DVC units.
Each of my other timeshares allows early check-in if the room is ready. I was nicely surprised to be given keys to a 3BR unit at 11am last month at a timeshare near DLR last month. I was way, way early ...

But it is looking like those "occasional" issues are becoming more and more lately. That is the problem here. When I first joined in 2006, I rarely saw posts about problems with rooms. Now I see them all the time and have, for the first time, experienced a problem myself. So things seem to be getting worse and DVC needs to take notice of it, and do something about it.
