We just got back from our choir trip. Thought I'd let you know about RFC and vouchers. We used 5 vouchers for 9 people (comes out to $17.23 per person) and had more than we could eat. We ordered 5 different appetizers and shared them. The waitress would not let us do the "add-on" but we did get four orders of surf and turf, and one other entree. The filets were absolutely wonderful, and the lobster was also very good. For desert, we ordered 2 volcanoes and the apple cobbler. We didn't come close to finishing. The other people with me couldn't believe how much we got for the price.

Thanks for that update. I'm glad you enjoyed your experience at the RFC. I hoped to take my family there and maybe use just 2 vouchers and 1 child's voucher. Our group is myself, my 73 y/o mom, 16 y/o twins, and 3 y/o. I figured that mom and I could share with my twins and my grandson could have his own meal. I'm hoping that the food is good there and that it will be lots of fun for everyone. We will not be doing any other "sit down" dinners except for those we do in our cabin at FW. ;) Last year we looked at RFC in DTD, and my daughter bought a t-shirt, but we couldn't get a table for at least 2 hrs. We decided not to wait. Are the vouchers good for the AK location only? That is what I have understood from reading the boards. I guess the atmosphere would be so much better at AK anyway. We just loved DTD and I think that's where the idea started from after seeing the restaurant. I don't think my grandson would be too scared of the animals there.

The Rain Forest Cafe has something called the Safari Club that gives you immediate priority seating. It costs $15 to join, with no renewal fee. They also offer a $10 new member award in the mail when you join.

There are discounts and freebies involved. Check it out on their website www.rainforestcafe.com.

We joined when we were at the Animal Kingdom in March. We did get immediate seating, though I don't think there would have much of a wait anyhow. We also got a free appetizer as a member.

Seems like a good deal to me. The only downside was that my 5-year-old son was terrified of the gorilla we were seated near and hated the noise. He did NOT have fun.

Cyndo, tell us more about how the show choir did on their performance in the MK!!!!!

We were there and saw the finals at the American Pavilion! Those groups were awesome! I was especially impressed with the group that did "Fiddler on the Roof"! Who ended up winning anyway? I thought they were ALL fabulous and so talented!

We were not competing, it was just a regular performance. We performed at the Tomorrowland Stage on Thursday. I have to say that it was the best I've seen our group do. Lots of people stopped to watch. I wish we could have Disney come and set up our sound and stage for every performance. It really sounded awesome. Except for the weather, (too cold and windy) it was a really good trip.

I just looked at the RFC menu and I do not see the Surf and Turf on there. Is it something special? Also, isn't this the meal that peope substitute coconut shrimp instead of the lobster? I will be there on Saturday and want to get this right!!

Don't know if it was yours we stopped and listened to (we listened to a few)..but they were all wonderful and we really enjoyed them.

We also ate at RF-AK..and although they wouldn't let us do add ons (we've never been able to get an add on), they as usual let us do an upgrade..we upgraded out steak on the stuffed lobster and steak to a Pimal (much larger) (not on the menu)..and we also "exchanged" the lobster for the cocoanut shrimp (you get more that way, than if you just get the shrimp and steak from the get go).
Now, if I could just stop singing "Happy Toghether" by the Turtles, everyone around me would be happy! I'm trying to switch to House of the Rising Sun", but the Animals just weren't as much fun as the Turtles LOL! Poor people on the plane tomorrow..trapped, with me singing LOL!
