Let me start by saying that we also used the QSDP in October on our visit.
We found the food much better on the first trip for some reason.
I wouldn't say that most of it was really bad this trip, but just not as good.

The consistant winners for us were:

Cosmic Rays (We had the chicken/rib combos with mashed potatoes and green beans)

Flame Tree (We ate there twice, I had the BBQ sandwich both times)

Some changes this trip:

We actually ended up eating at our resort a couple of times because we were not impressed at all with the QS options at Hollywood or Epcot.
In fact, we found Epcot's food to be worse than DHS!

Our first QS meal at Epcot was at Yakitori House. We have since renamed it "Yuckatori House". The food was way worse than a mall food court's attempt at Japanese. There was no indoor seating available and we ended up eating outside in the heat and humidity, so that made the bad food even worse.

We also ate at the new QS Mexican place... while this was better than Yakitori, it was still mediocre at best, and really, not enough food for dinner.

We tried Electric Umbrella one evening and just got the basic meatball subs, they were probably the best thing that we had at Epcot, so we know there is an option if we do the QS plan again.

We did eat at DTD 3 times during our stay.

1. Wolfgang Puck: I had the meatloaf and mashed potatoes, cheesecake for dessert. Very tasty.
2. Earl of Sandwich: I had the Montegue, good sandwich, but I probably wouldn't eat here more than once during the trip. Great desserts though!
3. Pollo Campero: We tried this on our last day. It was ok for a change of pace. I had the Citrus grilled chicken with campero rice. One big plus- they serve Babycakes Cupcakes for dessert!

Some snacks that we tried:

Cinnamon rolls from Mainstreet bakery
Mickey Bars
Dole Whip floats

We were just too hot to eat a lot.
We will definetly be going back in October for our next trip.

anyway, hope the reviews help!

We have been calling that place YUKitori for over 12 years! That place is just so gross, its worse than mall food court stuff

I'm in

Glad to see a QSDP review. We are trying it this August for the first time. We thought it might be nice to not be tied to any ADR's. I'm in the process of making a list of the places we will want to eat that will give us the best variety.

One really good one to add to your list for Magic Kingdom is Columbia Harbour House. We didn't get by there this trip, but it really is good, and it has plenty of indoor seating.

Yuckatori house LOL!!
The lady behind the counter even yelled at DH LOL!

It's already on there. We have never been there....we always end up at either Pecos Bills or Cosmic Rays. I've wanted to go to CHH many times but got out voted by the family. I think this year we will go for sure...my youngest is now in love with shrimp and DH is now in love with hummus.

Thanks for the reviews! We have never bothered with Yakitori, and certainly won't now. Our consistent winners for Epcot are Sunshine Seasons and the rustic tatins or quiche (plus dessert!) at the patisserie.

you didn't like the Yakatori. We love the food there. The salads with ginger dressing are very good and the chicken with rice is always tasty. We didn't like them switching from breasts to thighs but they are very flavorfull. The seating is limited but we enjoy sitting outside unless it's 100 degrees watching the other people.

forgot... I did have my taco salad at Pecos Bills... that is always good.

We have never been impressed with Sunshine Seasons. :confused3

On a sad note, I saw that the QS plan will only include 1 snack next year. :sad1:

Us too! However, to me its worth standing in that glacially slow line just to get the Iced Green Tea!!

I'm not sure if " THE YUCK" is the place we get 2 egg rolls but they are an awesome snack credit! My husband & I LOVED them!! I know the place we get them is in AK & it's outside. I never had anything else to eat from AK besides the egg rolls & a frozen banana. I think I'll try flame tree this time. Thanks for the tips!

I agree with Lees3rwe. My favorite counter service was Wolfgang Puck Express - the salmon and cheesecake were very nice but it's a haul to Downtown Disney. Bus service makes several stops at different locations (pick ups for the water parks) before your return.

Hmmm, we've never done Yakatori House, but that was on our plan of attack this coming QS trip. We are planning on doing:

Earl of Sandwhich
Columbia House (we've eaten there and LOVE it)
Tortuga or Launching Pad
Tangerine Cafe'
Tomorrow Land Terrace
Cantina De San Angel (eaten there and liked it well enough)
Lottus Blossom
and Casey's Corner.

What do you all know about these places? Thanks OP for your review! :thumbsup2

All your choices look pretty good - watch out for Tortuga Tavern and Tomorrowland Terrace though; they're both only open seasonally so you won't want to count on them.

I think you are talking about the Anandapur Local Food Cafes in AK. PP is talking about Yakitori in Epcot. And I was doing some research for our possible upcoming trip and it looks like you know only get 1 Pork Egg Roll for a SC. I found a fairly recent picture of their menu at easywdw.com.

We dined at Yakitori last Fall and found the food pretty good. Not great, but good. The Teriyaki Salmon was tasty but not as good looking as the photo they had on the counter. ;)
