Just back - POR & BWV

Hi all...

We evacuated from the Panhandle for Ivan so we headed to WDW. The trip was fine and we came back to just moderate damage especially compared to the folks in Pensacola.

BWV - We're DVC members and had a studio for 1/2 of the week. I love the Boardwalk and this trip was no exception. The service is beyond excellent and we love the location. It's one of my favorite resorts on property.

However ...

I was blown away by our first stay at Port Orleans Riverside. We stayed in one of the mansions, really close to the main area. It just felt so incredibly relaxing. I could not believe how much we liked it and it's our new favorite moderate. The staff went above and beyond for us, the grounds were beautiful, and the foodcourt really nice. It reminded me a lot in some ways of the atmosphere at OKW - just really laid back. We like to stretch our points by staying at moderates and this will now be our first choice for sure.

I should add that I'm incredibly nitpicky about hotels. I like everything to be right when I'm on vacation and I get even pickier the older I get. Port Orleans was wonderful.

I'm glad you didn't have much damage from the storm!! I was real glad to hear you liked POR so much, since we are planning on trying it in May. We are used to CSR and love it but DH likes to try different resorts.
