We just got back from pop Century for a week. Does anyone have any questions that I can answer for you? It is an absolutely magical place!!!

Glad you had a wonderful time! What building were you in? What floor? How were the crowds? Some people have said they think the rooms at Pop Century are a smidge bigger than the other value resorts. What did you think?

The most asked question is about the coffee situation. Where is coffee available? What type of coffee is sold, etc.?
Also, are mugs available for drink refills?

These questions come from Tyler's Far Out Questions link.

I was just wondering, do all of the bathrooms have hand rails in the showers? There was a posted picture of a shower and it had a hand rail in it. Also, which area is closest to food court and which is closest to buses? Thank you for helping.

Are the rooms quiet? Did you hear noise from your neighbors?

What about the location. I just realized that it is not near the other value resorts.

Great location. Very near to Downtown Disney and Typhoon Lagoon.

I am with WDWisthebest

Tell us about the coffee :hyper:

People that read my posts must think I have a coffee problem. Buy hey. We all have something, right?

We were in the 80's B building on the fourth floor. This is right in front of the computer pool which was really quiet most of the time. It is very cute with a keyboard and a gigantic replica of a laptop. It has a building next to it for laundry which was really handy.

I don't know about the coffee situation, sorry. I did see people drinking it in the cafeteria but I am not a coffee drinker so didn't pay much attention to it.

Handrails in the shower--- No, not every room has this. Our family took up three adjacent rooms and one was considered a limited mobility room. It had rails in the shower and by the toilet. It also had a lower peep hole.

The rooms are very quiet. I didn't hear much from the neighbors at all. So much so that we didn't know when our family was up and ready.

Location is great. The buses were a little slow somedays but there was never a long ride to any of the parks.

Anything else?

it might be a dump question:
i would like to know how much did you pay for your room?
because i am also planning to stay in pop next christmas, is the room small, can it fit 4 ppl? thx

Not a dumb question at all!! I was one of the lucky ones and got the ap rate of $49 for the entire time. I don't normally buy ap's but with the three room reservation it definitely saved money in the long run.

The room will definitely fit 4 people. One of our rooms was 4 and then a crib with a baby. They were fine. The rooms are definitely smaller feeling with that many people but if you are organized it is definitely doable. And how much are you really in the room.

thank you
do you mind to tell me when did you know that there's going to be ap rate? because i am planning to travel next christmas, and i want to get 49$ as well
is it far from magic kingdom?
thx

Can you see any of the fireworks from anywhere at PC? My kids are small and I think all the shows are past their bedtime.

Thanks
Beth

I read somewhere that the 80's and 90's buildings are noisy due to traffic on the highway nearby. Is this true?

That picture was of one of our accessible rooms. This is the room mix:
King Bed Accessible 63 (roll in shower)
King Bed Typical 81 (standard bathroom)
Dbl/Dbl Bed Accessible 115 (tub/shower with rails)
Dbl/Dbl Bed Typical 2621 (standard room)

As for the location, Pop Century is centrally located near the Disney-MGM Studios. It's only a short distance away from DTD, DAK, Epcot, and the MK.

As for noise from Osceola Parkway... I personally stayed in the 90s building, and never heard a peep from the highway, even when I was outside.

I saw this post open so I thought I'd share my 2 Cents :earsboy:

PC was great but I think I like the All Stars a bit better(more atmosphere for me). The rooms seemed smaller to me but they may be the same size. The best location by far is th classic years. We stayed in the 80's 90's area as Heathdog mentioned and it was a slight walk to the busses. Not a kill you walk but good few blocks :)

The 80's 90's area was very quiet as were the rooms.

Bus rides were very short and bus wait times were good most of the time. We might have had a couple 10-15 minute waits at most.

I hope that helps. I also posted some pictures of the resort. I didn't take as many as I would have liked but enjoy them. I will be adding more Pictures(200ish-300ish) of the whole trip if you want to check back Wednesday afternoon.

We knew of the ap rate in I believe September because that is when we started to convince our family to go with. I think it was mid to late September and it was through these boards so I am not sure how much earlier it came out. Good luck!!

My DH saw the fireworks one night when he was out in the resort. We have a 10 month DS so I was vegging with him in the room. He said that he didn't know where they were coming from and I am not sure of the time they were or how great the view was.

The buildings were very quiet and I didn't hear the road at all. From our window we could see one of the highway Welcome to WDW signs so that is how close we were and I didn't notice a thing.
