Just back POFQ

Welcome home! How did you like POFQ? We'll be visiting that resort for the first time Nov 23 and I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Yes, post a review if you would! We're trying to decide between POR and POFQ for our trip next May. We loved POR, but we really liked the quaint feel of POFQ when we visited there one morning. What did you think about the resort's layout?

Oh...and a specific question...how close was the parking to the buildings? We could park right outside of our building at POR, which we really liked. Would it be a hike from the parking lot to the buildings at POFQ?

Thanks!

We stayed in July 2004. I can't tell you how satisfied we were. First, and most important to us, the bus stop is very close to the buildings. Even from the most remote building, your walk in at most a couple of minutes. We were in building 4, the closest to the bus stop and the parking lot. The pool was a very short walk, and the food court the same. The time before, in 2001 we stayed at the CBR, and it was a long walk to the bus stop, especially after walking around the parks in 90 degree heat for several hours.

Food court was decent, about the same as the one in the CBR. Rooms are the same in the moderates, so that is not an issue. In July, we never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus, even when we just missed one. Pool was much nicer in the POFQ than the CBR.

For us, the close proximity from the room to everything was the deciding feature and is the reason we will return there in July 2006.

By the way, at less crowded time in the middle of the day POFQ and POR shared buses. They always stop at POFQ first. Sometimes the patrons of POR had to stand. We never did.

Hope this helps some.

COmomof2, I'd go with French Quarter for all the reasons listed above. Riverside is a lovely stroll along the river so you can go over there for the pools and restaurant. You kind of have the best of both worlds that way. (And yes, you are allowed to use the pool.)

We are staying there in 3 weeks. We are soooo ready for a vacation. Could you tell me your favorite food items in the food court? Can you tell me how you liked the dinning plan? We are doing that too.
