Ok here it is this is my first report and I first want to thank the Dis because with out you and all your members I do not think our trip to Disney would have been so well planned and organized to make things run as smooth as they did!

First: The love bugs are out and they do not bother you but you will see them on the front of the cars.

Two: I priced it out to see if it was better to rent a car or use Disney transportation. It would have cost us $60 more to have the car for only 4 days and have a driver pick us up and return us to the airport. We decided to get a car for the entire time we were there. We found that the signs down there were bad when it came to directions but after you are there for a day or two you will figure out how to get around. We also used the boat and the bus to see what was better. We found that it was faster to jump in the car to go to Downtown Disney or one of the other resorts then to take the boat or bus. There were many many people down there and this kept us waiting for the next boat or the next bus because we could not get on with all the people.

We were surprised at how crowded it was because many kids are still in school and we took our own two DS 7 & DD 5 out of school so that we would not have to be there when every one else was there and boy were we wrong!

Three: I have Fibromeyelgia and before I went I faxed a room request to the hotel telling them of my conditions and that I would like to request a room in the Magnolia Terrace and a top floor where it would be quiet. Well, When we got to PO they told us that we were going to have a room in the Bayoe section and in the back. When we told the girl we sent a fax and that I needed to be close to the main building because of my illness she said they did not have anything and when my husband let her know that we were upset and that if room requests cannot always be honored then they should at least try to honor someone who is sick before someone who is not. Well, we asked for a manager and they said they were going to check on a room in Parterre Place after 20 minutes my husband asked the girl what was taking so long and she said she did not know? Again, 20 minutes later we asked and she still did not know. By now our two children were now hungry and were getting very upset because they wanted to go to our room and we had priority seating for Chef Mickey at 7:00 and it was now 6:00 finally when my husband decided he had had enough he walked up to the girl behind the counter and she told him that the room was now ready. We were glad we had a room and in a better location but I was very disappointed in Disney first for not trying to give us a close room knowing my condition and second for leaving us hanging and sitting in the lobby for 45 minutes!

The hotel is nice and it is well taken care of and the food court has a lot of choices for food but be careful because it will still cost you for four of us to have a meal at the food court it was an average of $45 - $50.

When we got there we started leaving an envelope per day for the maid $1.00 per person and since there was 4 of us we left 4 dollars. No, she did not do anything extra not like some of the other posts that I have read here on the Dis. After 4 days of doing this we came back late at night and found our hotel door open! The door needed to be pulled shut and did not close on it's own. The maid did not pull it shut and our door was open all day! We had many things left in the room that we had been buying while we were there and thank god nothing was missing but I was very upset and called the front desk. They sent someone right away to fix the door and after that we had no more problems.

We were able to go to The Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Seaworld, Universal Studios, MGM, Downtown Disney and The Board Walk.

Every park we went to we rented a stroller $13 - $15 depending on the park. It was well worth it! We did not do this the first day at The Magic Kingdom and our DD who is 5 could not walk the entire park. After that when we rented the strollers in the other parks she never complained again.

We ate at Chef Mickey's if you are going then it is only to see the characters the food was nothing to write home about. This bill was $79.63

Cinderella's breakfast was excellent!! Great food and many characters a must do on my list!! This bill was $ 62.79

Le Cellier Canada in Epcot Great food and a good place to eat. This bill was $83.43

The best place of all was at the Yachtsman's Steak House at the Yacht Club! It is the number one restaurant on Disney property and I can see why. The waiter was excellent and the food was out of this world. Try the Appetizer Tomato slices with Mozzarella cheese! This bill for the four of us with no wine was $139.00 but well worth it!

I thought you would like to see what it will cost you if you have a family of four because it can get costly but we were on vacation and every night we would have a good meal. The gift store in the hotel sells milk and Entamines bake goods so a few mornings we would have donuts in our room. If we had breakfast out we skipped lunch and if we had breakfast in we would get lunch this helped keep the food bill down but it still cost us by the end of the week about $1000.00 in food.

I liked Downtown Disney better then the Board walk there is much more to do at Downtown Disney like eating, shopping and most of all Disney Quest and my husband and son loved this place this is a great place to go at night and they are open till 12:00 AM and at 10:00 there is not many people there!

They also have Planet Hollywood there and this is a must do place to eat and see. They have great food and many things to look at!!

I highly recommend making priority seating for every place you want to go. There were many people who I saw turned away because they did not have PS and the restaurants were to full to let anyone else in to eat!

We were able to go into the Hall of Presidents at the Magic Kingdom! I asked them why it was open even though the maps said it was closed and they told me this was a very temporary opening and that they needed to add George Bush. There were only a few people in there because the map says it is closed but if you walk by you may find it open.

Well, since this is longer then I planned I will leave it up to anyone else who may have any questions and one last thing if you are going in the very very near future it is very very hot down there it was in the 90's and boy are we glad to be back in New England!!

that always is a bummer.......your discription of the food places was great........really love Le Cellier too.......thanks again for the report

Hi SaintMolly

I was at POR the 19th to 23 in the Bayou section. Sorry to hear your bad time at check-in. I too have fibro and wanted to be close to the foodcourt so I requested building 18 which is smoking, second floor.

I had my doubts about second floor tho. It was quiet, but so wasn't the whole area. But dragging my sorry butt up those stairs after a lond day on my feet was difficult. Must say a good nights rest did it's magic.

Sounds like you ate well. My memorable was Rose & Crowne Pub, Planet Hollywood (hated the noise) and Bomas.. that was the best.

This was the first time at Downtown Disney for me and I loved it. I'm just a novice to Disney, but I plan on making it a habit....

Glad to hear you had a fun trip.

thanks for posting - kind of neat to see what you have to pay for some of those meals.
