Hi,
We're just back from Spring (Easter) break at WDW. Had an awesome time.
Crowds were managable with planing. Didn't wait for anything with use of Fastpasses and good timing I guess.

We ate at CRT on Easter Sunday and were only charged 1 TS point, we didnt realize it until much later in the week and had to scramble to use up our extra points, we went to Maya Grill on our last day. I don't know if it was because I made the ADR's 6 mos ago before the change was announced or if it was a little magic/luck on our part.

We ended up saving $438.80 on the dining plan. Had so many snack points we took 12 snacks home with us. It really is a ton of food. We definitly ate differently but it allowed us to take the time to sit down and relax. We never waited at a restraurant and saw many people without ADR's turned away.

Feel free to ask any questions.

Michelle :)

 Hi Michelle we're going in August and we have the meal plan. We're staying in a Fort Wilderness Cabin. We are still trying to figure out all our dining plans but my wife wants to do the Hop De doo (I know it's 2 meals bt by the sounds of the reviews it seems worth it). We are thinking of Liberty Tree for our character meal (we've got 4 kids so this is a must). What is the CRT that you ate at and how was the Maya Grill?

Thanks
Shawn

LTT dinner was an awesome experience for us. Great character interaction. Plentyful food, not gourmet but delicious. By far this was the best waiter we had the whole trip.

CRT is Cinderella's Royal Table in the castle. The hardest ADR to get is breakfast. It is supposed to count as 2 TS points. I think it was a wonderful experience, but not really worth 2 points. Everyone has a different opinion on this. For us it was a must do once. But I doub't we'll be going back for a second time. We were only charged one TS meal, not really sure why.

The dining plan was a huge savings for us. I am sure many don't use up every point. I saw lots of people using TS credits at CS becasue they were out of counter service points. I think this is were Disney makes a profit of it. You do need to plan ahead with the DP, but I wouldn't go without it. It was wonderful to not worry about $ for food while we were there enjoying vacation.

Maya grill was good, clearly the most expensive place we ate. More gourmet, my meal was very good. I don't know if I would rush back. I didn't care much for the decor and the menu had alot of seafood which I was unfamilar with. I did get the mixed grill and it was very good. Huge amount of food, especially with app and dessert.

***This is response to someone who asked about CRT.

I agree that LTT is good. We really enjoyed the food and the character interaction is very personable and feels more intimate than others.

We did CRT last time, and it'll probably be the last time. I just wanted my girls to experience it ,but it's not worth the money to me. If you've done it in the past then I would pass on it. 2TS for an adult is $78,per person, would you pay that for breakfast ANYWHERE else? The food was good but it has gotten ridiculously overpriced. Plus, if you don't call EXACTLY at 180 days before the day you want to go , you will not be dining at CRT. People (including myself) start calling 6:59 am.

I've heard good things about Whispering Canyon. I think we might try this next time.

Good Luck

Michelle....

Can you save up your CS and use them for a TS meal? We are going in Oct during the F&WF and we'll probably be walking around Epcot sampling food from the kiosks and stuff. We have an ADR at R&C and CG at the CR... I'm not sure where else to eat...We are staying 4 nights and only have 4 TS credity and CG takes 2, so we'll only have 1 TS left any ideas?

ANSWER: Hi, I am certain that you can't bank CS meals in exhchange for TS, however, I did see people doing this in reverse. Mostly teenagers or young adults were told at the CS at Pop Century that they didn't have CS meals left but could redeem TS meal credits for their CS meal. Each time this was offered the person agreed. I wonder how many parents are suprised that they have run out of TS meals after being presented a bill at a TS restraunt.

As for recommendation of a TS meal, we enjoyed Ohana's and Teppanyaki alot.
