Just back OKW....never again

will we stay anywhere else We absolutely loved it. We were there an entire week in a one bedroom. #5114. Location was perferct for us. Bottom floor golf course view. We had a car so I can't comment on bus service. The room was spacious and clean and I loved the decor. So differant from my house where all our wood is dark cherry. We used the main pool and the "quiet" pool and the kids loved the playground. One funny thing, my husband took my oldest dd to downtown one night and the two little ones were asleep in the bedroom. I sat outside with a cup of tea reading a book (something that is rare for me) and was really enjoying the peacefulness. Well nature called and I went to go in and bam, the door was locked with a huge frog stuck to it. Now I am deathly afraid of frogs but this frog was one like I had never seen. It was light green and looked like it was made of gel. ewwwwwwwwwwwww. Well anyway, up until this point I had never seen another person in our little unit. But lo and behold a man came out on to his balcony and yelled to him to call the front desk. They were there within 2 minutes. I just got to tell you I think my husband is on the verge of buying.

I also used the Albertsons pre order service and that was wonderful. In and out in 5 minutes flat.

I really loved coming back to the quiet and peacefulness after long days at the park. OKW would be the right choice for us.
I finally understand your love for DVC.

Boy, I've got to admit that when I read the title of your thread, you scared the heck out of me! But reading it, whew! That's exactly how DH feels-I think he'd be happy spending our whole vacation sitting on the balcony (between rounds of golf, of course). But fortunately, we've never seen those frogs.

Glad you had such a nice time at OKW---we love it there too ! And since you brought up the frog---we had one in our room last year also. The difference was that ours was alive and kicking. The kids chased it all around and finally into the bathroom --where we cornered and caught it. We were all laughing hysterically. We finally released it into the water outside. One of our fun OKW moments..........

Glad you had a great time! I hadn't heard about the frogs and wondered with the development of the area had done them in. Not that I'm thrilled by them but, before the built the final phase, sometimes at night they would be all over in the Turtle Pond area. I had never seen anything like them before.

Those frogs spread just like jelly onto warm toast with a butterknife.

It seems as though you encountered either Hyla Cinerea or Hyla Squirella (Green or Squirrel Tree Frog). Both are common to Florida and are quite harmless (unless you try to spread them on warm toast ).
