Just back (Oct 1st) pics/crowds/etc...

Hey Folks! My DS2 and I went for a day trip on the 1st. All in all it was a good day. It was beyond hot. Amazingly hot. Gross hot. You get the point. It was hot. It was a weird day concerning crowds, though. I was expecting horrific, but it wasn't even as bad as a summer day or a weekend even. Before park opening I felt there were just too many people everywhere. But I only felt that way again by Haunted Mansion and after 5PM (I think a lot of the locals came out for the evening stuff).

FL got busy very quickly and I can only stress the importance of doing that first, as it never was slow again all day. We did everything we wanted within the first 30 minutes.

Now we get to HM. It didn't open until 11am, so there was quite a line. We FastPassed it and walked on.

The Dream Team (not dreaming) hanging out. We saw them a lot, just not dreaming:

Indy, Roger Rabbit, and Jungle Cruise were all down more than once during the day. I was disappointed with Innoventions. The only good thing about it was the air conditioning! It was a great day for seeing characters. We waited no more than 5 minutes for anyone. We took advantage of Pizza Port's water and ice station. We got seats for the parade an hour before it started and there wasn't many seats left after that.

Seems like you had a fun day despite the crowds and heat. I tend to look at it this way--a busy, hot day at DL typically beats the h*ll out of a day at work!

No. They were not even on the schedule that I picked up for character meets. Captain jack was wondering around there though...???

I would be thrilled if crowds were that low when I maybe go later this month. The idea of crowds/heat is the only thing keeping me away.

Ick, it was terribly hot here, and I'm closer to the beach than DLR, so I can't even imagine how nasty hot it was yesterday.. I hope it goes down by next week..

I too thought some of your pics looked really crowded, like the line into HM, but then other pics it looked fine. I am glad you had fun and thanks so much for posting the pics. We leave in 29 days and looking at pictures always makes me more excited!

I believe it was just down, and that is why the line formulated so long. Once they opened it, that line was less than half the size, but was still too long to wait with a toddler in my opinion, which is why we FP it.


It is crowded in that area, though. To me it always is, especially going into Critter Country.

The pics outside the front gate then again on main street it seems like the park is packed but then the rest of the pics looked like it was empty.

Glad you didn't have many long waits.
