Just back ... Observations on MDE / Magic Bands

WOW. I'm tired, lol!! Getting old I guess, but we're I think all Disney'd out for a while! Not that I didn't enjoy my trip, it was wonderful!!

Had some great new ADR's (1900 Park Fare was awesome!).

Our Magic Bands worked perfectly the whole time we were there. I'm not exagerating at all, we had ZERO problems. My FP+'s were all there and worked great, I even made changes a couple times as we went along on the MDE app on my phone.

Charged to the room with the band, bill settled at end and CC billed and emailed to me.

It was so nice to have the band and not be pulling payment / room keys / park cards, etc. out all the time, it was VERY freeing!!!

Stayed at CBR - got a $75 credit ($15 per night) for no refrigerator. You have to specifically ask about this, they don't just do it automatically.

Had a realllllly long wait on our food at SciFi, and we didn't even complain, and before anything could be said, our waitor brought us a FP good for any ride anytime. Disney Service is GREAT! Another experience on a t-shirt return, was a little bumpy, but they got it all figured out and was really great about it!

Rode TSM 4 times one day (one was my free one above), one on MB, one FP-, and one straight to the line. Yes we double dipped a little (no flames please, just reporting.) It is still possible with KTTW cards ... at CBR anyways.

We never waited more than 20 minutes in any line, and that was including the headliners. We rode EVERYTHING we wanted, and a good chunk of them multiple times.

First time on-site, using buses, and with Dining Plan. Will never do it another way again, loved all these things. We had the regular Dining Plan (free promotion) and WOW it was a lot of food!! I couldn't imagine getting the Deluxe!!! I felt like all we did was eat, lol!!

ETWB was AMAZING!! All of new Fantasy land was AMAZING, especially Arial's new ride!!! VERY VERY COOL!! Nothing like Nemo, except the shape of the seats....

Had lunch at BOG ... did the Fast Pass + for this, and WOWOWOWOWOW. Passed probably 250 people in line ... SO GLAD WE did this!!!! The restaurant and food were WOW!! So cool!!!

Rode all the headliners and our favorites a LOT ... had an amazing trip!

Just curious - after such a wonderful world why do you say you're done for a while? Maybe it was so successful you won't need to?

Great question!! Because I'm EXHAUSTED!!! We got in around 1am last night and I'm SO tired. It may be just me saying that in the moment. But feet hurt and TIRED have me thinking a more relaxing vacay is in order next ... and we do have a cruise set for next Summer!!

I love Disney, but there is MUCH to be discovered and enjoyed on our vacations, and I just think I'm ready to spread the love a little!! We went once last year and this year, and since they're fairly expensive, and somewhat limited on vacation time, I'd like to do more other things too!!

We were at CBR this past week too! I wish I had remembered to ask about that fridge credit... We loves the resort, but rooms could really use the upgrade they will be getting.

Loved the MB's and FP+ system. Was awesome with the dinning plan. My small complaint was last minute changes on the My Experiences app we're always registering. I'd have to pull it up and show them. Crowd levels were great, hardly needed the fast passes, but with a 4 year old we skipped many of he 'big ones' Used it for Jungle cruise a lot.

For us, we were disappointed and didn't get the hype for Be our Guest after a long wait in the rain. Crowded, dark, food was just okay, no dessert on dinning plan for kids. We had much better food at other quick services.

After 5 days in the parks, we feel like we've had enough Disney for a while, too!! but it was a magical trip!!

Did it seem like a lot of people were using the FP+ lunch? Were people in line giving you looks like, "how did they just skip this miserable line?" Did you bring any documentation with you just in case they didn't have you in the system?

Hey ... Not a lot of people using FP+ for lunch that I noticed only one or two people in line ahead of us. I tried to avoid looking at the people in line, although I felt no guilt!! In fact I did a lot of "you people should really do your research" kind of thinking on this trip! lol

I had no documentation, and it wasn't on my MDE app or Magic Band. I had a confirmation # written down in my phone, but it got deleted somehow, so I was a little worried about me being on the list. But I checked in just like a reservation at a Table Service restaurant and all they needed was my name, they never asked for MB's, confirmation #'s etc.

We didn't pre-order, I wanted the full experience, so we did it all there. I did feel a little rushed looking at the menu, but just took my time anyways. Our food was out within 12 minutes or so, and that was spent enjoying looking around the restaurant.

We waited in line for BOG on Saturday. I only noticed 3 or 4 groups skipping the line. Didn't bother me. I did it plenty of times to people waiting in lines for rides! Haha!

This answers a question I've had since I made my BOG FP+ ressie, no documentation to show that I have one. Glad to know our name should be on "The List."
