Hot and Crowded pretty much sums it up. If this hadn't been a free trip I earned, I would never choose to go at this time again.

Take my advice and go early! The days we went early we got a lot done before all the crowds came. Difference is, in December we really didn't need to do that, but we feel it is essential at this time of year, especially with the heat.

Example: Got an 8:05am Crystal Palace PS. Got out just before rope drop. We were the first at Aladdin's Magic Carpet, my kids favorite. Got a private ride and then rode again. Then went to POC and got our own boat. We split up and DD and I went to BTMRR and pretty much walked on. The boys went to HM, but it wasn't working. All this, before 10am.

On another day, we went to MK late morning, just to ride HM and Buzz which we hadn't done. We promptly left after seeing that Buzz had a standby wait of 55 minutes at 11am and the fastpasses wouldn't kick in until at least 1 hour later.

That is exactly why I won't go during the summer months. We plan our trips in Sept, it's still hot but not as crowded or humid. How did you win a trip?

Welcome back, zulaya! Not surprised to hear it was hot and crowded. How did you like POR?

We're going Aug 18-21 for a dear friend's birthday and I'm concerned. The folks we're meeting aren't morning people. I've got a hunch that we'll be back from the parks, lounging in the pool about the time they want to head out. Could be we become evening people!

We love going in the summer. Going in 4 days actually for an 8 night stay at the Beach Club. Like you said, get there early. I like the fact that the parks are open late and there is a special air of excitement in the summer. Also, extra fireworks...like Fantasmic.

Sounds like you were smart, you went early and still had fun.

I for one, like going when the X-mas decorations are up, but I don't like even the slightest possibility of cool weather. When I vacation, I want HEAT. So, in 4 days, I'm sure I'll get just that. HEAT. Two words: Stormalong Bay.

I agree with the OP. We just got back on 6-25. We usually go in October...it's much better for us! The waits aren't as long, the weather is cooler, and it's not so crowded. We like the activities going on then like MNSSHP and Food and Wine Fest. I'm glad we tried vacationing now, so at least we know we didn't like it as much as the fall.
