Just returned home last night from 7 days at HRH. We had a pool view room on the 1st floor at the $135 a night entertainment rate. Rented a cabana for 2 days. We ate at numerous places onsite and enjoyed them all. Traveled over to Disney 2 of the days to use old park hopper tickets. FOTL can't be beat, it was truly a pleasure. I'll be writing a trip report shortly but would be happy to answer any questions.

Hi,, just wondering about your first floor room... Was it easy to get to the pool...did they have sliding glass doors that you could walk out from your room...... thanks..amy

Glad to hear you had a good vacation. Now tell us the nitty gritty about the HRH!!!

How was the service?

How was your room?

Please tell!!!!

Would you stay there again?

I found the first floor room to be very convenient. We were in room 1118 which was a very short walk to the pool. None of the rooms had a direct exit to the pool area. The hotel is HUGE and if you don't request a room close to the elevator you could be in for quite a hike! One thing I disliked was that you can't open your room window. As humid as the air was I would have liked to have opened it just to breath in some fresh air rather than deal with the stale air conditioned air all the time.
The service was great at the HRH and we would definitely stay there again. Housekeeping took a little longer some days and one day it was 4PM and the room wasn't cleaned yet. One call to star service and that was fixed, they arrived at the room within 5 minutes. The room was in great condition, definitely 4 star at the very least. The pool area was beautiful and we enjoyed the cabanas very much. My 7yo DD insisted we had hit the jackpot and were now royalty.

The rental on the cabana is $75 for a regular one and $100 for a themed cabana. We were lucky as we had reserved cabana #10 back in March and it had been themed since we had rented it. They were very nice about it and only charged us $75 for the full day.

Thank you for the information. I am now beginning to get excited about this resort again. Lately, reviews have been less than good, but to each his own.

Thanks again!

NET NURSE, Glad to see you had a wonderful time.I also love the HRH .Im going back in july for our 5th on the 4th vacation. In 2002 we stayed for the 4th of july at the HRH and it was the best time we ever had on the 4th of july. This year we stayed in Disney at the Boardwalk Villas.

NET NURSE, What is a themed cabana?I had a cabana with a tv and ice box back in 2002,would that be a themed one now.I dont remember the number but it was behind the hot tub and Dee Snyder from twisted sister had the one next to mine on the end.

Where are all the cabanas? No. 10? Last week (Aug 26 - 27) I only saw two, both by the pool bar. I only saw people in one on the afternoon of the 27th, otherwise they were empty.

packy they are talking about HRH, they offer 10 cabanas. RPR has 3 and Portofino has 16. Were you ar HRH? If so you missed 8!:p

Jessica - we were at HRH this past week. There were not 10 cabanas. By the way, 'we're from Jersey - Exit 105'.

Hmmm what did they do with the cabanas then? Now I'm curious!

There definately were 10 cabanas on the 23 and 24th.

PACKY,
Im at exit 67 just south of you.

There are definitely 10 cabanas! We saw all of them ;)

There are currently 2 "themed" cabanas. One is #7 which is the yellow submarine and the other is #10 which is themed as the original musiquarium. The themed cabanas are decorated differently then the regular ones. They have a colored canvas according to the theme as well as painted adirondack chairs. With the themed cabana you get one refill on the drinks in the fridge as well as 2 floats for the pool. Certainly not worth the extra 25 bucks they charge you for the atmosphere and 6 sodas.

The regular cabanas have a tan canvas and include the same TV, telephone and fridge the themed ones do. We bought a case of soda at Wallgreens 1 mile away and stocked the fridge. For 2.99 for the soda we saved 22 dollars. Luckily we weren't charged the extra $25 for #10 this past week because we had booked it before it became themed.

Thank You NetNurse for the info.I like the one we had that was in the outskirts of activity.I think I will stay with #5 for the location(Not to far and not to close). If we get one on drive-in night then #2 is the pick.I buy very few drinks at the pool with the cooler full of drinks and my traveling blender waiting to be used.
