Hi there! We got back on Wednesday after 2 weeks at OKW resort. It was my DH, myself and my niece, her husband and 2 girls (6 and 8)

Highs

*The additional scuba style experience in TL. It was amazing.$20 for about half an hour. The pool is bigger than Shark Reef and has far more fish/sharks.
*Seeing my little niece's faces when they met the characters
*Riding Dumbo 5 times in arrow at the end of night, just the 6 of us.
*Wild Florida. We went last year and really enjoyed the experience. This year was just as good. Loads of gators, sea eagles and even a bald eagle chasing a sea eagle for its dinner
* Cinderella's Royal Table for lunch with the nieces. Our waiter, Sir Paul, was amazing. So attentive to our princesses. When one ordered something age didn't like, he replaced it. He also swapped the other princess's desert for an adult one as he heard her say that cheesecake is her favourite.
*FP+. When it works it's amazing. Never ridden TSM or Soarin so easily.

Lows

*FP+. It has glitches still. It lost our FP+ for A&E on our niece's 6th birthday. Luckily they sorted it but it was an anxious 10 mins at the start of the day we could have done without. It also had a habit of giving one of our party a different time to everyone else depute our tickets being linked. It was really random. Our advice when it goes wrong, complain at the hotel as they are more apologetic and sort it out with paper fats passes. In the parks we got shrugged shoulders sometimes.

*My niece got food poisoning after a trip to Olive garden which completely wiped her out on the day we had ressies for CRT so we had to take the kids on our own.

*The heat was far higher than we expected for May. One day it was 96! We would expect that in August but had really looked forward to it being more reasonable in May.

But we didn't let any of this spoil out time. It was amazing. It was our niece's family's first time and we felt so privileged to take them with us. I think they are converts and expect to see them signing up to the DIS any time now.

I agree with you about the heat, I was there last week it was bonkers hot!!!!!

Can I ask. Did you have a one bedroom villa and if so, can you report on the comfort of the single and double pull out beds. We are staying here next year and I'm interested in how comfy they are or at not..... I will have a plus 6 foot 16 year old boy in the double pull out and a skinny, tall 13 year old girl in the single pull out.

Sorry Scooby but we stayed in 2 studios as there were 6 of us. We have stayed in 1 beds at BLT and SSR but I think the pull outs are different

Sounds like you had an amazing time! We also found it a lot hotter than normal for May but it did cool down towards the end x

Thanks for the report :-) how did you find out about the TL scuba experience? That sounds like fun! Do you book in advance?
We've been in May twice and found it can be very hot too, last time though we hit the edge of a tropical storm so it was really wet. This year we're going August for the first time eek!

It's right next to Shark Reef in Typhoon Lagoon. You just pay when you get there. It's like a cross between scuba and snorkelling in that you stay on the surface but use scuba rather than snorkelling gear. It's much easier to use and far less likely to get steamed up or water in your mouth.

There were loads of fish and sharks, A hammer head swam within 1 metre of me and a ray brushed up against the whole of my body as it swam past. The fish are far less shy and there's more variety. When we did it, it was a busy day but there was still only me and my DH in the pool with the instructor. It's made us want to take scuba lessons.

Sounds right up our street.DD(15)squealed with excitement when we told her.She wants to be a Marine Biologist so this is perfect.Thank you :-)

Sorry for being thick but when you said about complaining to the hotel, am assuming you meant on returning to the hotel after a day whichever park you've chosen that day?? Or did you know about the FP+ glitches before getting to the park?? Apologies.. I've never used FP when it was the old system so the new one is completely baffling. I mean, am assuming they still have standard lines as well right??

You shouldn't expect any problems with FP+ it is getting a lot better. We have used it on 2 trips without a glitch.

I believe the OP means complaining when you return at the end of day.

All attractions still have standby by lines at the moment :rolleyes1

Sorry I know I was probably being super dumb with the standard lines question! Lol! Just that Disney has brought in all these new things recently...

It sounds fab and we plan to buy this for our nephew in August. Were you able to pay using your Magic Bands?

Thank you for posting your highs and lows :D

Hi , Yes we paid for the snorkelling experience with our magic bands. They worked really well in the water parks. We didn't take any money with us at all.

I have to admit, we often didn't recheck our FP+ times until we got to the parks as I'd taken screen shots in advance. With the exception of my Niece's birthday, I think all the messed up days happened when I'd made reservations the night before OR if I'd changed something on the original times, to allow for a lie in etc. Strangely though, it wasn't the things I'd changed that went wrong, it was the other stuff. One day, it just knocked off my DH from all the slots???? It got sorted but it was a pain. In all, I think 5 of our 14 days got messed up.
