We did EE (to which DH and I had VERY different reactions!), a grand gathering at Epcot, Soarin', saw Wishes, went to EMH-eve at AK, got to MK at 9:30 on EMH morning, Philharmagic, PP Flight, Flights of Wonder, stayed at OKW, DH golfed at LBV, OR, and Palm. I'd be happy to answer any ???

As far as reactions to EE-I guess I'm a definite ride-wimp! Although I hadn't seen anyone on these boards suggest it might be too "wild", it was for me. I thought I was really doing well-at 9:30am, there was only a 20 minute wait, so I got a FP and then went to the stand-by line, intending to do it twice. Going up the mountain kind of lulled me into a false sense of security-"This isn't too bad." But then, when it went backwards, well, someone said it was "only" 15 seconds, but it went on much too long for me. I finally just closed my eyes and prayed for it to be over soon. And when I did get off, I gave my FP to someone who was going on it. DH went later that day (he was golfing when I had my "experience") and all the pleading in the world wouldn't get me on it with him. When he got off, he said it had been great and he couldn't believe I didn't like it. Of course, then he made it worse by telling me about the little kid next to him who was on his 5th trip and said, "It's not like it's really bad, like going upside down or anything." No, but it was bad enough for me!

For morning EMH, I happened to go to 2 EMH parks, getting there at 9:30 or so. I figured both parks (MK and AK) would be packed by the time I got there. But fortunately, both parks were so uncrowded, it amazed me. Peter Pan was only about a 5-10 minute wait, same with HM. In AK, I got on EE with only a 20 minute stand-by wait. And the FP return time was about 10:30-11:30. Yet, at AK, I checked the tip board at 1:30, and EE was out of FP. What I learned was that you don't have to go to an EMH morning park right at the early opening time. As long as you're there fairly early (9-9:30), you'll still really benefit with short lines and lack of heat. By 1:00, it's so hot and crowded!
The only park I did evening EMH at was AK. DH did EE with a 20 minute (or less) stand-by wait and then KRR was a walk on.

Welcome back Simba's Mom!

Did you happen to see Belle in Epcot's France? How was the autograph signing character count? :goodvibes

Thanks,
penny

How did your hubby like the golf? Did he go alone and they hooked him up with other people? Mine wants to golf when we go in Nov, so am looking for rates for then (not posted??) and will send him off while DD and I go do a horseback ride thing (her idea!). Did he rent clubs?

Hi! Didn't see Belle.
Yes, DH golfed-WDW is a golf resort to him. So he golfed every day except arrival and departure. Because he planned to golf several times, he brought his clubs. However, he has rented clubs in the past (back in the "good ole days", when he only golfed once or twice). The clubs are really good ones (Titlist). He signed up as a single, and they always grouped him with others. It's an interesting way to meet new people.

That was my exact reaction to this ride. It took me a couple of hours before I started feeling myself again. After we got off I had to sit down for a while, my legs were shaky. It was my first (and apparently last) roller coaster.

I am so excited!!! I can't wait to see my mom's, sister's and cousin's reaction to this ride!!!

Glad you had a good time Simba's Mom. How was the evening EMH at AK???

was it hot what should i bring to wear

I'd love to hear about the Grand Gathering at EPCOT. We're trying to decide whether or not to book it, but I haven't been able to find a good description of the entertainment and food offered. Will two 7 year old boys and a 3 year old girl enjoy it, or will they be bored? What kind of entertainment is there prior to IllumiNations? Any info you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

First, we've seen Illuminations many times from many spots, including 2 Illuminations cruises, and DH and I agreed that this was by far the best view of Illuminations! Before Illuminations, they had a buffet dinner. The kids would definitely not be bored-they had some, ahem, special visitors at the dinner, including one very special mouse, who posed for pictures with everyone in the lobby. Everyone really enjoyed themselves. The food was just OK, but everything else more than made up for it.
Sorry, I missed the question about the heat. In the morning and evening, it wasn't bad at all, quite pleasant actually. However, it got intolerably hot very fast. So I'd say that if you're going at this time of year, be prepared to get up early or broil! Last year I went with Mom at this same time. Well, Mom doesn't get up and out before about 10:30-11:00. It was so unbearably hot to me last year! But this year, being up and out a couple hours earlier-it's amazing how much more comfortable it was!

What do you think about Big Thunder Mountain - my favorite ride. But when I rode RoRc I thought I was going to die. I was breathing like I was in labor just to keep from loosing my breakfast. If its like BTM - I'm good. If its more like RoRc - I'll keep my distance.

BTMRR is OK for me-once! But one night during EMH, I went on it 3 times in a row, and then I really started feeling queasy. But I found EE worse than going on BTMRR even 3 times in a row. There's an area where you go very fast and around turns at the same time. I like Splash Mountain (the straight drop), but I think it was the spinniness (is that a word?) of EE that got to me.

I'd like to know how the EHM at AK was also. Were there any FP for EE during the EMH? If they run out during the day do they open up more FP's for the EMH?? Thanks

When you went to the EMH AM did you stay at that park all day? Or leave and go back later? Just wondering how the crowds were later in the day or into the evening on the day that particular park had the EMH AM. Thanks!
