Hi Disers!

We just got home from 9 days in the World (April 19-27) and I am happy to answer any q's. I have 2 DDs - one tomboy (6 years) and one princess (3 years). We visited all 4 parks and stayed in the FW cabins. We did many character meals as well as the Pirate & Pals Fireworks Voyage and My Disney Girl's Perfectly Princess Tea Party.

Let me know if you have any q's about anything. :)

Goofy's barnstormers, is it open? We are going in a few weeks and I have my girls all psyched up for it.

Did you have fun?

How were the crowds??
Not Jodi here, but I too just returned, 4/21-4/27. The crowds were fine. I stuck to the low crowd park/s each day and night and it was quite pleasant. Not sure how the crowded ones were though.
How's the weather and how expensive is the gas at the Hess?
The weather was mid 80's each day, mid 60's evenings. One day there was a late afternoon tornado watch for some hours and a torrential downpour, with wind. Rained 2.8 inches, wind max was 54. Gas was 2.77 the day I arrived, 2.74 a few days later, 2.82 when I left and filled up. Better than our 3+ here in Chicago.

Oh come on! You know the drill by now, veteran diser!!!...
weather?/crowds?/refurb update?
Just like a chatrooms A/S/L ... :lmao:

Yes we had a MAGICAL time!!!

To answer your questions:
1. Yes, the Barnstormer is still open. We went after visiting the Fairies at ToonTown's rope drop and it was walk-on. We did it twice.
2. Crowds - well, we followed Touring Plans and did the recommended parks. With our touring strategies, everything worked out well and we did not wait for much but it felt busy, lots of people. Some days were 4s but others were 8s/9s.
3. Weather - it was sunny and HOT! Although it rained a couple of times overnight, it never rained during the day so we were very lucky weather-wise. High 80s, very hot for us Canadians :)
4. CRT - no, we did not eat there but we did do the PSB breakfast at Akershus in Epcot and indeed Ariel was there! BTW I would highly recommend this character meal - it was our favourite of the whole trip. Amazing line-up of princesses: Ariel, Cinderella, Snow White, Aurora & Belle.
5. Refurb - Ariel's Grotto and Scuttle's Landing is closed and there is a big wall between there and Toon Town. Peter Pan's Flight is being refurbed on the outside but the ride itself is open. There have also been a lot of q's about the Pooh ride - it is open, but Pooh's Thotful Spot playground is closed. There were also a few stores on Main Street that were under refurb.
6. Gas prices - sorry, we didn't have a car so I have no idea...thanks to pp for fielding that one!

Hope that helps! Happy to answer any other q's too.

Havent been in over 2 years at this point. Did they get rid of Stacy on the Resort TV Station? Or she still on? Or is it an updated version of her old countdown?

Thanks Jodi!! :goodvibes

All this Toon Town Fair has me confused as I have not been there in almost 30 years, it was not there the last time I was there so I won't miss much I guess. :rotfl:

Jodi -
Thanks for all the awesome info!
At PSB @ Akershus, was Belle greeting in her yellow dress per normal? DD4 is wearing her Belle dress to PSB next week, so it would be great if this works out!

Thanks again,
Laura :goodvibes

We just got back too and we thought the 21st thru the 25th was crowded still...and it was HOT! Until yesterday (our last partial day). And we did MK in the torential downpour...we were ready and it cleared things out pretty well so from about 8pm until 2am it was pretty empty!

I know that Casey's is being refurbished, are there any other stores on Main Street that have screens up? I would love to get a photo looking down Main Street without walls/screens. Our last two or three trips there has been something being refurbished on Main Street. If it's only Casey's, at least it's at the end and won't be so noticable in photos.

When I was there in January, Stacey was still on! Although it's an older Stacy now - no skimpy bathing suits this time - it's an updated version of the countdown, with footage from both the older version and with new footage. We still put her on every time we go - morning and night - no matter how many times we've seen it! It's sort of tradition...

Yes Belle was greeting in her yellow ball gown at PSB. You can also find Belle in her blue/white dress at Belle's Storytime in MK and in France in Epcot. Meeting her in her ball gown is just at PSB I think. If you have a Belle fan, be sure to see "Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage" in Hollywood Studios!!

As for Main Street, I didn't take notice of what was being refurbed - but now that you mention it, I think it was Casey's. Also though Exposition Hall is being refurbed but I think it will be open again soon - May 9 for Pooh and friends who have been evicted from Fantasyland now that Pooh's playground is closed.

Yes Stacy is still on the TV but it sounds like a pp paid more attention to her than we did so I would go with that answer!

The Plaza Restaurant also has the screen like Casey's (totally bummed me out because we ate there and I liked the food again but it felt so claustrophobic and I missed the view of the castle). Also, just to the right when you first walk in, in the corner, I think I remember it being refurbished with the screens as well. I don't recall anything else on main street.
Like the OP said, Peter Pan in Fantasyland has the screen up and I thought the Pooh ride did as well but I could be wrong.
Liberty Tree Tavern also is redoing the outside and has the screen up.

I was disappointed with how many places did all at once.

How were the cabins? Did you feel you were too far away from everything? How long did it take to get to the parks? How far is the main pool from the cabins? Was it noisy? What age would you say the princess party was for? Is 11 too old? Sounds like you had a great time!

Cathy

Stacy is still there... the show has been updated a bit (It's now Disney Must Do's). As PP said they use a lot of the old footage but there are some new pieces as well. It seems a lot shorter than the old spiel... which means you end up hearing the same crap over and over AND OVER! :lmao:
