Just Back-Great Weather-Moderate Crowds

Hi everyone! We just got back yesterday from a gorgeous 9 days at the Vistana Villages. The weather was incredible, 87-92 everyday and sunny!! We flew SW and everything went great. We had no problems. The first night we went to GF for character dinner. The food was good but the service was horrible. They had 2 waiters for the entire restaurant!! Also, I did not like the fact that you had to stand in line outside the restaurant to see some of the characters. Some came to your table, but not all. For that kind of money I don't want to stand in line to get a picture and autograph. This is the only character dinner I have ever seen that has done it that way. We ate breakfast there also and it was the same way. Next day we were off to Islands of Adventure, sorry Disney, but we the Spiderman ride is too good to pass up!! Thurs we went to MK. We got there first thing and rode Space Mt, BLY twice, ate breakfast at Cindys, did Pirates, HM and Small world all before 12:30. After that the crowds started to get too much and we went back to the pool. We celebrated my daughters 6th bday all week. At the castle they had streamers and confetti on the table and brought her a bday card for all the characters to sign and a cupcake with a candle. The breakfast was excellent. We returned to MK around 6 and did Splash Mt, JC the carousel and Space Mt again. We watched the Fireworks and then headed out. It was an E night which was nice, because even though we couldn't ride they still have the shops open and there was not the usual mad dash to the exit. We did Typhoon Lagoon the next day, it was crowded but not unmanageable. Also did AK and ate at RFC. That was good as usual. We did Chef Mickeys on my daughters actual bday and that was very fun. The food was great and so were the characters. We also did Hoop De Doo Revue and thought it was fun and the food was good.

Sounds like you had a great time. I remember when the Villain Dinner was at the GF - The Red Heart of Queens had to stand in the lobby - there was no way with her dress that she could move around the tables. Thanks for posting!

I can see if a costume would not be able to get thru the tables, but this was Piglet, Tigger and Eeyore. I still am not sure why they did it this way.

Enjoyed your report and sounds like a perfect vacation, your DD will have so many terrific memories of her birthday and the all the time you spent together - that's wonderful!! Thanks for sharing it with us

So glad to hear you had a great time! Reading your report is getting me even more excited for our upcoming trip. We are also have a ps for the 1900 Park Faire for our first night. I'm a little disappointed about the lines for the characters. Do you happen to remember which ones did come around to the tables? I am hoping at least pooh and tigger because my ds(2 yr. old) just loves them! This will be his first trip (mine too!!) and this meal will be his first character interaction. We also have a Chef Mickeys ps for our last night so I am very happy to hear you enjoyed it!! Thanks for the report!!

The characters that came to our table were Pooh and Eeyore. Piglet and Tigger were in the hallway. Piglet was coloring with the kids at a table. The dinner was good with lots of different choices. You will love Chef Mickeys-great character interaction and great food, and very good desserts!! I forgot to also say on our last monorail ride, which happened to be my daughters Bday, we got to ride up front!! We had been trying all week long and I was so happy she got to do that.
