Just back from Boardwalk.

It was hot (mid 90's) with unusually low humidity. Much more crowded at the parks than I expected for the last week of May.

CM at check in was proper but not friendly. No magic there at all. But nothing really negative either.

Our preassigned room was not ready when we got there at 9am. Steve said they were FULL the previous night so no alternate rooms available. We called back intermittently from the pool and it was ready at 3pm.

The pool was full but not "capacity." EVERY chair was taken by a towel when we got there at about 11am. Only about 10% of the chairs had actual people in them at any given time.

We had a nice standard view overlooking the entryway -- a tree in front of the balcony partially obscured the noise and cars. We got both requests -- near elevator and no smoking. 4073 and 4075 together as a 2BR. I wouldn't mind staying there again or any of the other standard views with comparable views. Could see the highest Illuminations fireworks.

Called for dishwasher repair and maintenance was there within 10 minutes -- I kid you not. No other problems with the room other than my kids kept it a mess!

The sofa beds were rated as uncomfortable by my teenagers. Our king size was comfortable but nothing special. I found the condo space ample but not as generous as OKW, although I wouldn't avoid BWV because of that point. (We have 7.)

Nary a bed bug nor ANY pest to be seen. VERY clean and well maintained room.

We did three park days, but not a lot of rides. We mixed and matched but did one full day at Epcot mostly walking around watching people and the goings on at the Garden Show. A wonderful day! Our best family meal of the trip was at Garden Grill. The magic was there. You can't make it happen -- it just happens once in a while. We will all remember that wonderful meal -- probably when the rest of the trip is forgotten.

Went to the butterfly release and our two middle aged (6 and 9) caught ladybugs and butterflyies and even one small bird in the little garden and we had to pull them away after a half hour.

We went back to Epcot another night and got front row in the sit down section -- right at the railing -- for Illuminations and it was well worth the 2 hour wait. It was probably my 5th or 6th time to see Illuminations and being in that spot made it a whole new experience. It was very nice to be able to saunter over from the BWV.

My favorite time of the trip was watching Spectro and Wishes from the train station -- a privilege we paid for dearly with a LONG wait. Again well worth it.

We enjoyed walking the Boardwalk at night and found you can get a pretty decent view of Wishes from there, over the Yacht and Beach Clubs. The place was bustling.

My favorite DVC resort is STILL the resort I'm staying in at the time. Everyone needs to check out BWV. It is wonderful. I don't know what I'll do tomorrow morning without my 7am walk onto the boardwalk for donuts and crumb cake and coffee.

I hope to post more specifics later on restaurants and the parks.

One other thing -- there was an available Illuminations cruise one day. It was posted at the Community Center. We had just seen Illuminations so we didn't reserve it. They told me that cancellations are posted there sometimes and at the marina between Yacht Club and the Boardwalk. If you really want to get a cruise and missed the reservation, you can call the marina every day while you're there. Maybe you'll get it.

Great report. Especially the part about cruise cancelations. That's great for us all to know.

Thanks! Great report. We are going to BWV in October. I've been to the BW before but we stayed in a hotel room. This time I'm going as a DVC member and staying in a 2 BR.

We found the staff to be "cool" on our first trip there also. Not rude, but close to it.

It's a great place with a great location. That makes up for the CM's being a little stiff or unpleasant IMHO.

Were any other meals worth mentioning other than the wonderful experiance you had at the GG?

Thanks for the great report! We will be at BWV next March. Where is the sit-down section at Epcot for Illuminations? And how long a wait for your train station viewing of Spectro Magic and AWishes?

Thanks for the review! We usually stay at BWV, but I would be happy to be anywhere at WDW.

I love what you said. It is so true. We had a magical day in March at Epcot, nothing spectacular happened, we just had the *best* day that was the highlight of our trip.

Thanks for the great report about your trip. We also find that the great perk about staying at BW (or any Epcot resort) is that nice unhurried trip back to the room after Illuminations.

Thank you for posting!:)

Great report. We were in *exactly* those same rooms at the beginning of May, and like you found them to be a great standard view. The previous trip we were in 3006 which felt like a mile from the elevator.

The only downside was that we received a number of misdialed calls as people would sometimes forget to dial for an outside line and the 407 area code would come through to the room. Did you find this happened during your stay, or were we just unlucky?

Thanks for the trip report and positive remarks about BWV!

We are at the BWV 1st week of July - standard view 1bdrm - We have never stayed at this resort and I am SOO looking forward to it! I love the BW area and atmossphere!

We have stayed at OKW(many times) and at VWL - my goal is to stay at ALL the DVC resorts.

Can't wait to be at the Keister coaster pool (I know many don't like the clown) But that is my FAVORITE POOL!

We enjoyed all the meals.

My wife and I did Flying Fish without the kids. FANTASTIC!! Better than our experience at California Grill, which was also great. I can't say enough good things about Flying Fish. Superb food and superb presentation!! Our waiter was "Didi" -- from Morocco. A Tony Shaloub lookalike.

Ohanas with our family was fun and enjoyable. The only negative was that we felt a little rushed. Also, it was on our last night of the trip, which may have taken away a little magic.

Crystal Palace for lunch was wonderful as usual. It was suffering a bit from the crowds. The front porch was a MOB SCENE. The cast members appeared to be run ragged. And character interaction was less than usual.

We didn't do Chef Mickey's for breakfast this trip, but that's a favorite.

We had dinner at Spoodles. Definitely recommended.

Big River Grille and Brewery. We ate outside on the Boardwalk and would also recommend eating there.

GG and FF were the most memorable.

What a wonderful report!! We ate at GG on our last trip and it was definately a highlight. Thanks so much for sharing!

Thanks for the report. We are headed down in Aug and Dec and appreciate the current recon.

The "sit down" section is front and center -- right up to the railing. No strollers allowed and ALL POSTERIORS MUST BE ON THE GROUND. You're not allowed into the section until the fire marshall gives the OK fifteen minutes before the show. If it's too windy they keep that section closed. If they open it everyone rushes in when they drop the ropes at 845.

We got to the train station a little before 630 and got the best seats. The front row was filled by 630. Spectro was at 9 and Wishes at 10. I think there was another Spectro at 11 but we were long gone. (It was the Friday of Memorial Day weekend and there had only been one Spectromagic in the previous 5 days.)

Those two waits were the best time spent on the trip. We've been on all the attractions so many times we didn't feel like we were missing anything.

You will love Boardwalk!! By the end of our stay my wife, who is not a huge Disney fan or DVC fan, said "this place is starting to feel like home."

I thought, That's the whole point. There are a lot of other details I would like to post if I have the time, but once I get back home it's like jumping into a raging river after a downpour. Ie. my life is a flash flood.

One detail I just thought of: the GARDENIAs. Only a few by the big pool but LOTS by the quiet pool -- where my kids actually preferred to swim toget away from the crowds. The scent of gardenia was everywhere.
