Just back from WL and it was great!

We returned yesturday from a great trip! 7-14 - 7-20 We did come back one day early because of daughter being sick but everything else was great. Just hate that its over. Daughter is fine now. WL was out of this world! Unless we go through with our wishes to purchase a camper we'll never stay anywhere else but WL. We had no real problems during the whole trip. The transportation at WL worked really good. No really long waits for the boats or buses. The parks were fairly crowded last weekend but they thinned out it seemed during the past week. Only real problems at the parks I seen were the Brazillian groups taking over a couple of days. Overall we had a great time. We're already in the planning stages for our next trip and we cant wait! Thanks for the great report, I will be there in 24days, first visit to WL. What other resorts have you stayed at? Did you go to AK and/or DTD, how was the bus service to those 2 areas?

You're very welcome Trekker! You'll love it the first time you drive up to it! WL along with the staff was wonderful. You cant ask for a better place.

Marlower the bus service was fine to those two areas. Matter of fact after a short trip to MK after we arrived we went over to Downtown Dis to eat and I guess it was luck but the bus was sitting at the WL stop when we got down there and when we was ready to return we had to wait only a couple of min for the bus to return. All in all we had no problems with any of the transportation. Seemed like the timing of the buses was perfect and always seemed like a boat was pulling up to the dock too.

Great News! I had read that the bus service to DTD and AK can get long, so you hit it just right, I hope to do the same

We are upgrading from the Caribbean Beach Resort to the Wilderness Lodge next year. The cost is $1,000.00 more so we had to book a standard view room. What type of room were you in and where were you located?

I am glad to hear the transportation was good since I've read other posts saying how slow it was.

Did you eat at the two restaurants or the counter service? Just wondering how the service and food was.

I've read that you an walk to Fort Wilderness. Did you do this?

UMMMMM.....let's see.......I know I had more questions but I can't think of them right now.

We were in room 3114 , a woods view looking toward the villas. We originally booked a std view but 2 days before we were supposed to leave Disney sent us a e mail saying they were upgrading us to a woods view. Honestly the view didnt matter to us because I dont believe we went out on the balcony but maybe once. The transportation was fine to us. Maybe we just had a lot of luck but it seemed like there was a lot of buses running so waits were short. With the boats most of the time there were two running from the WL and Ft Wilderness to Magic Kingdom and there was two running the loop between WL, Ft Wilderness and the Contemporary. We ate at the Roaring Forks several times and got real good burgers and pizza there and also ate at Whispering Canyon for dinner which was a blast. I made the mistake of forgetting and asking for ketchup in which I wound up with probably 20 bottles on the table. We also went to Ft Wilderness to the Hoop De Doo which was a blast too. We rode the boat there. Didnt try the walk. Heard it wasnt too bad of a walk. We just rode the boats mainly because there were storms in the area. If you have any more questions please ask. So good to hear you loved WL! We are staying there for the first time the
1st of December for 3 nights.

We visited there during Mousefest one yr and the decorations were so pretty.

What a pretty view you had - we have a courtyard view reserved, so hope it is as pretty.

Glad your daughter is feeling well now.

It's a courtyard view and as long as you book courtyard you should be ok. The only issue was they tried to give us courtyard overlooking the quiet pool. We told them we wanted the slide pool and the geyser, no problem they chabged our room at check in. Going again August 26th so please keep my room clean

I'm glad that you had a great time! We are staying at the WL for the first time this Jan. I can't wait. Right now I booked a std view room, but I am considering changing it to a woods view...I guess I will just wait and see once the 2008 pkg. rates come out. That's nice that you got upgraded!

The pool never seemed to be all that crowded. Seemed to been more pool chairs held than people in the pool. We had a ball the 3 days we used it!
