I took my mom down to Disney to celerbrate her 70th b-day (actual day was May 23rd). We had a wondeful time. The first day it rained (really hard) the first night we were there (Wednesday, 6/6/07) but the rest of the time was great, hot but not to humid.

I didn't find it to crowded, but I usually go the week of July 4th so I may not be the best judge.

Glad to hear you had a good time. I wish I could get my 66 yo mom to go. She's convinced she's too old! :confused3

Any highlights you would like to share. Does your mom do any rides?

Yes, did she do any rides? And has she been before? I'm dragging my 75 y.o. parents for their first Disney trip EVER in a few months. I'm not sure if I'll give them heart attacks if I suggest TOT, etc.!

My 73 year old mom has been twice and there is plenty for her to do. She loves the shows, the flowers and landscaping, and there are plenty of rides she can do. Things like POTC, IASW, etc. She loves Wishes and has told me that on our next trip in Sept she wants to see the fireworks EVERY night we are there. Seniors are just like everyone else--they either get the magic or they don't.

The last time I was there we were in line for ToT. An octogenarian was in line with us. She said her daughter would be upset if she knew she was there. I told her to not tell her. ;)

My parents are not big on rides. The last time they went was in 04. My Dad got sick on SE. Complained of chest pains. Actually he had the flu. My brother lives in Orlando, so we went back to his place. We'd planned to be there the entire day to see the Candelight Processional. Oh well, maybe some other time.

She does all of the rides except the "crazy rides" (the mountains, ToT, rock n' roll). The funniest was we went onto the Carrousel at MK and she picked the horse that was the lowest so she could hop on, but when the ride was over it was the highest off the floor, she had quite a hop off!!:) She sometimes has a little problem with the moving floors (Peter Pan, Spaceship Earth etc) but I make sure I stand close so she can grab on.

We took it very slow since she has problems with her legs and knees. We went to MK, Epcot and MGM (skipped AK this time). She calls Disney her "happy place"!!

I'm trying to convince my parents to go. I know my mom would love Epcot and MGM. She could probably stay at Epcot World Showcase the entire trip.

We took DH's parents in January. They are 80 and 83. We went at their pace and had a wonderful time. It helps that the kids are older, so they can go do their thing and meet us later. Funny they always show up for meals :lmao:

We usually have at a few kids with us when we go (age range 2 to 12) so my mom usually sits down some place while we run from ride to ride and then we meet up with her.

This trip was all about her. No running at all. In MK we got there when it opened (8am) did all the rides in Fantasy Land, strolled over to POTC, went and had lunch and then left the park. Since we have both been down a number of times we didn't feel like we had to rush anywhere. If we missed it or didn't want to wait, we just remembered that we will be back down in December!!! Same thing at Epcot, strolled around WS sat down in each country and relaxed.
