Yes, pin trading is alive and well at WDW. However, I thought that the selection available on CMs' lanyards was the most repetitive (saw the same pins all the time) I'd ever encountered there. I like to collect Cast Lanyard pins, but those were very difficult to find unless you were out pin trading first thing. Most CM's were really nice, but I had one time that rather disturbed me. When I told the CM I was looking for Cast Lanyard pins, she told me "Oh, no! You won't find any of those from me. Those are MINE! I put those away-I never trade them." I don't think they're supposed to do that-keep them for themselves. I just updated my pins on pinpics, so if anyone wants to look to see what I got, I'm simbasmom on there.

Yikes, Simba's Mom! That CM is going so far against WDW's own pintrading guidelines she's practically at Sea World  . If she's keeping for *herself* pins that either
1] get traded from guests and then onto the WDW-owned/official-CM lanyard that she wears *or*
2] pins that she is gets from available trading-stock & that she is *supposed* to place on the WDW-owned lanyard that she wears as part of her costume?...
she is just itchin' to get "written-up" or fired.

agnes!

I forgot to ask you, Simba's Mom, where eaxctly was this CM stationed? She wasn't by any chance that infamous/narsty MCO/Disney Store CM, was she?

You know, actually she was! At least she was at the MCO Disney Store. After that initial comment, I didn't stick around to find out what else was "pleasant" about her.
