Hey everyone. I just got back from a few days at Coronodo Springs. The trip went wonderfully. Did AK, MGM, EPCOT, and Downtown Disney. Crowds were surprisingly low, at least for Summer. Never had to wait in line for more than half an hour and never had to use a FastPass! Not a drop of rain all week either. Great time. I know before I left, I was asked if I could post some info on what characters were out when I get back, so here it is (with pictures too).
EPCOT:
Went to the new EPCOT Character Connection in Innoventionsfor the first time this trip. This has to be one of the best and most organized locations I've ever seen for the main characters. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto and Chip and Dale were all in the main area. Great backdrops here and the pictures all turned out great. Goofy was in the Hallway at the exit when I went. At other parts of the day, I also spotted Pinocchio and King Louie there as well at different parts of the day. The Times Guide said that Figment was going to be at Imagination after 12:15pm, but I didn't head over there.
In World Showcase, the biggest surprise was in France where Cinderella and the Fairy Godmother appeared in the rear garden near Belle's Library. This was the first time I'd ever seen the Fairy Godmother in the parks and I was surprised to see them since I hadn't heard of them appearing in EPCOT lately. Don't know if this is a random thing or if they are going to be regulars here. Belle and Princess Aurora were appearing near the promenade between France and Morocco. The rest of the pavillions seemed to have the regular characters. Mulan was in China, Snow White in Germany, Foulfellow and Gideon in Italy, Aladdin, Jasmine, and Genie in Morocco, Pooh, Tigger and Eeyore in the United Kingdom and Kenai and Koda in Canada.
Disney's Animal Kingdom:
Characters seemed pretty light at Animal Kingdom. The only more unusual character I spotted there was Flik near the Tree of Life. Stitch was nearby near the bridge to Camp Minnie-Mickey. Pooh, Tigger, and Eeyore were at the Discovery Island Character Landing. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy were all on the trails at Camp Minnie-Mickey. Baloo and King Louie were in Africa near the begining of the trail to Asia. There were also characters at Rafiki's Planet Watch but I didn't get over there on this trip.
Disney-MGM Studios:
Lots of characters at Disney-MGM Studios this year! Clarice was over by the Sorcerer's Hat making appearences with Chip and Dale. Other characters in the area at different points of the day included Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, Tigger, Eeyore, Chicken Little, and Prince John. On Commisary Lane, Sully was making appearences at the Monster's Inc. Garage Door.
The Incredibles were out in full-force at Magic of Disney Animation including Frozone now who seemed to be missing in action for a while. Mr. and Mrs. Incredible were also making appearences.
Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable were out on Mickey Avenue near the Backlot Tour entrance. It's awesome to see some face characters at MGM again and Kim and Ron were awesome. Sorcerer Mickey was in this room on Soundstage 1. Over at the trailers, I spotted Annie from the Little Einsteins. They were lining kids up at JoJo's trailer when I walked by but didn't stick around to see her.
Lightning McQueen and Mater were making appearences on the San Francisco street on the backlot. Woody, Buzz, Jessie and Green Army Man were over at Al's Toy Barn. The Power Rangers were also making appearences near Lights Motors Action throughout the day.
