We (My wife, 2 yo daughter, MIL, FIL, and myself) just got back from a weeks stay at the Sheraton Vistana. I had a Saturday check in and had requested the Cascades section and got it! Thank god for the diamond lane as there was a long wait in the regular line. The room was very nice and very clean. We did 4 days at WDW (1 at each park) and 1 day at Seaworld. If anyone has any questions regarding the Vistana or the parks I will do my best to answer. :D

And diamond lane was easy to sign up for, right? You just applied a few days out? Or do you need to join further from travel date and make requests a few days out? Glad you had a good time!

I filled out my diamond lane reservation form 30 days in advance and sent it. I received a confirmation email stating they recieved the form and my requests and gave me my reservation number. About 3 days before we left, I sent the form in again with 2 additional requests I left off the first form. I again received a confirmation email stating it was received. I think I got real lucky because all my requests were granted.

Hi Jim, what type of room did you have? I am staying there in 15 days in a 2 bedroom villa.
Also did you buy any thing from the general store - like eggs , donuts, milk bread - just wondering how the prices were (if it would be worth it to travel to a regular store or not..

Thanks Michelle

Michelle-
We've stayed at Vistana several times. The food in the General Store is the bare necessities and expensive (soda, beer, cookies, chips, milk, juice, and some prepared meals). You may be better off to go to Publix or Goodings if you want anything more substansial or want to pay a little less.

which building do you request?

do you like your view?

were you near the interstate or the hwy?

So I have 7 more days before I put in my request - thanks!!!

Great Thanks - we will get Groceries someplace else.. Michelle

Michele......we also had the two room villa. It was very spacious and the rooms were a nice size. There was a bathroom in the master bedroom and another bathroom which had a door from both the second bedroom and the living area. We, however, did not use the second bathroom as a bathroom as it became the baby's room for the week. I got that idea from someone on the DIS and it worked out great. The crib fit perfectly in the bathroom and with a nightlight it was the perfect little room. The first night she was a little scared but after that she was fine. As for the general store, when we arrived the employee at the front desk advised us to go to publix which was 5 min. away. He explicitly told us not to use the small "supermarket" directly across the street as they are very expensive. We did all our shopping for the week at publix the day we arrived. A day or two later I went into the general store and found the prices weren't that bad. If you need a lot of stuff, I would recommend the Publix; if you are just picking up a few things the general store is not bad. Also, no matter what section you get, try to make a stop at the Cascades pool. It is very nice and they make good Pina Coladas at the Cascades Grill right next to the pool. If you have any other questions, let me know............Jim

SpiceyCat.......I requested the Cascades & Lakes section. In both of the replies I received from the Vistana they stated that there was no availability at the current time but if something was to change they would make every effort to accommodate us. Low and behold when we arrived they had us in Cascades..... I couldnt believe it! We had a nice view of a lake with a fountain in between the different building sections. We were very close to Hwy 535, but it did not bother us. .............Jim

Hi Jim - Thanks I did request cascades fingers are crossed that is what we do get!! I have to go off site to get my car ( I am surprising my family with a one way limo trip from the airport to Vistana then going to Hotel Plaza Blvd - doubletree hotel- to pick up our SUV ) so i will just get the directions to an outside store so on the way back i can stop.. How was the drive to Epcot and Seaworld (those are the 2 parks we are doing while at Vistana) Thanks again. Michelle

also what is Diamond Lane?

Michele....Epcot was about 6 - 8 minutes away. You make a right out of the resort onto 535 and then make the next right onto 536 and it takes you right into WDW. As for SeaWorld, you make a left onto 535 travel less than a mile to Interstate 4 and take 4 East to I believe exit 71. This took about 10 - 12 minutes. As for the Diamond Lane, you actually register before arriving and when you arrive you go to a special desk at the end of the lobby on the right to check in. There was only 1 person in front of me on the Diamond Lane line and about 20 or so on the regular line. It is well worth it. Try to copy and paste the below link to get to the form and then you just submit it via email. Very easy! FYI, this is also where you would make any special requests. Jim

Just checked out the Sheraton web site and filled out to be a preferred customer. We're going 11/28-12/5. Where do you sign up for the diamond lane reservation?

Kathmzh.....it is the Vistana resort not the villages

aquidneck.....if you go back a few posts, I posted the link to get to the diamond lane form. Jim
