Just back from very first DVC trip at the BCV's

All I can say is...WOW. I will preface this by saying that it has always been the five of us in our family and have stayed at POR in a very small room. Always happy there, but never knew anything else.
We checked into the Beach Club on a Friday night (Jan. 9) and our one bedroom was ready (was getting a 2 br the following day). I worked tirelessly weeks before hand to at least be able to get a dedicated for all the consecutive days we were there (long story) and thought I was getting that. I got better. She said we have a lock off and our room is ready. I was beyond excited that we would be able to unpack everything right away!
We head over. The lobby was beautiful, a Christmas tree in the middle still there (taken down at the end of our stay). We head up to our room and WOWWWWW!!! The space. You've got to be kidding me. I have seen pictures, but I just couldn't believe my eyes. It was really, really beautiful. So I remember seeing so many pictures, I just had to get my camera right away before the luggage was everywhere. The kids were so excited!!
We had done a grocery stop (Tiffany was wonderful, Larry was awesome) so we unloaded everything. We headed out to Beaches and Cream for a quick bite. Our oldest son (15) started to get the chills and fever really bad, so we headed back and had a great night's sleep. He felt much better in the morning, thank goodness.
We were in Rm. 529 and 527 (lockoff) the next day. Another WOWWW experience the next day. Just to have two bathrooms was just outstanding for all of us. It was very clean. I honestly have no complaints, just praise for this beautiful place. I had to combine two years of points to get this amount of room, so not sure what we'll do the next time (thinking about the cruise ), but we'll see.
We had a fantastic trip. Wishes was absolutely awesome as was Philharmagic. Very, very special shows. Thanks Disney!!!
Well, thats it for now. January was great, swam every day. Walked on everything. We had a great time!!!!!

Jillpie: Thanks so much for sharing. We too are the proud new owners at BCV and haven't taken our first trip home yet. We are going to WDW in less than 2 wks, but will be staying at BWV. It's nice to hear all the great things at the resorts. I enjoyed reading them.

Wow... It is nice and refreshing to get the "good" reports. BUT..................

I am just wondering if the little old studio is going to work for us (myself, dw and 23 mo) next month. We also only have a studio for September. But we just did get a 1BR for December. I guess that we should try the smaller accomodations first, because by teh sounds of it, we will never go back to a one room stay after December.

Welcome home, Jillpie!! It was great to meet you, your DH and your boys - thanks for coming up to say 'hi!' - we could tell how much fun you were having ! - we spotted you all again on Main St while we were having our silhouettes done - my girls certainly thought your boys were cute!! It was a great week to be in WDW!! Reality check - I just spent the morning 'de-icing' my entire driveway and sidewalks - yikes! - I want to go back 'home'!!!

Friends of Eeyore, worry not. The studio part of our 2 br. was PLENTY big enough for your wife and baby. In our case, we have a fifteen yr. old son, an eleven yr. old and a ten yr. old. We felt like we were in a house walking all over this place, it was unbelievable. I probably won't be able to pull that off again unless we skip a year and combine our points and go in a value season (tough to do as we had to get principal's permission to pull the oldest). Anyway, you will be just fine in the studio. We had the five of us in a much smaller room at POR and the studio is bigger than that. YOu will love it.

Bonnie!!! It was so great to meet you and your family!! Your grandaughter was adorable. We had such a great week there. Weren't those lines terrific? How did the rest of your 50th celebration go? Ya, I threw the ol rock salt down this morning and shoveled the walkway, how depressing. I literally was swimming two days ago. So great to meet you!!!

As a new member are you aware that occupancy for a one bedroom or studio is 4 unless one is under 3. You might want to plan on an addon for more points unless you plan to go every other year. It really is easy to love those 2 bedrooms. Glad you enjoyed your stay.

Nancy, its funny you should ask about my view. When I requested my location, I asked for an Illuminations view 5th floor. So when we looked out over our balcony, it was a woods view (rm. 529 and 527), with the Swan resort to our right. I didn't really care because it was still beautiful.
Well, about 5 nights into our stay and our first early night home, about 9:00sh pm, we heard huge booms! So I look out over our balcony and sure enough there's Illuminations fireworks right outside our balcony!!! It was a huge treat and surprise. We hadn't known it before because we are literally gone from our room every day from early morning to late at night.
Now, would I ask for that view again? Not sure. For the time we get to enjoy the fireworks I don't think its worth it. It was very quiet though. And I loved being near the elevator. So on second thought we really loved our location.

Sammie, I am aware of the occupancy numbers. When I booked our reservation, the rep. told me we are allowed 5 in the one bedroom, but they won't supply the bedding. That was ok, we took the cushions for that one night on to the floor for our smallest and brought a fitted sheet.
When we checked in, they were well aware of the five of us, gave each one of us five door cards and welcomed us home.
So what is said in the books should be changed. Disney sure does allow five in the one bedroom, just doesn't give you the sheets.
