Took the family to visit the in-laws in Vegas this weekend (we had a 3 day w Monday off). We arrived the day of Roys accident and it was very strange (and sad) to be driving around and see all of the billboards (and taxi ads etc) with his smiling face.
We always seem to go someplace when there is an event. Our last trip to WDW we were flying out the morning the space shuttle blew up. We were the only ones on the plane that had heard about it. My hubby had to go back to the car at the last minute to get his sunglasses and thats were he heard about it just happening in the lobby of the where we parked the car. We flew right over where it happened.... still makes me feel weird.
Aside from that thr trip was fun, we went to the Excalibur dinner show and had front row seats which was great for all of us but the 2 year old. The fire and explosions scared him to death. We won all kinds of silly, fun stuffed animals at the arcade that we had to schlep home. Then we also saw Lord of the Dance which was terrific. My inlaws know someone who knows someone so we got comps into the show... 3 rd row.
The trip home they had one lane closed going out of Vegas (leaving only one lane open) and it took us an hour to go 3 miles...
Of course we had already passed the only off ramp and no place to go potty, so we were all wiggling pretty good by the time we got to the next bathroom.... Always seems to happen that way. So the usual 4 hour trip home took 6 hours... with the 2 year old letting us know just how he felt about the whole thing for about 1/2 hour before he finally passed out
Anyway..that was our trip.... WOO HOO!!!
