The first thing I noticed at Tokyo DisneySea is how pleasant and helpful everyone was. This seems to be a part of the Japanese culture. If you are a guest then you are treated with honor. I know I know, this is the Disney way, and I have always been treated well at WDW, with few exceptions, and the Florida cast members are wonderful, but Tokyo was truly amazing! I never encountered a cast member that was too busy to help, or distracted or hurried in any way. I was always greeted with a smile, EVERY SINGLE TIME. There were times when I had my camera out when I shouldn't have. A smiling cast member would say "excuse me" in Japanese and offer to take a picture of me in front of the attraction, then use sign language to ask me to put the camera away, then thank me, give me a sticker and wave good bye.
When I first arrived I left my laptop on a bus by mistake, I was close to the Hilton Hotel at Tokyo Bay so I asked for help. I unfortunately do not speak Japanese except for a few phrases, and most of the staff did not speak much english, But we communicated. The front desk Manager called the bus company, tracked down the driver, the driver drove back, and my computer was delivered to the MiraCosta where I was staying. The MiraCosta in fact sent a car driven by a cast member to pick me up ( I was out of Japanese currency and there was no ATM nearby that would accept my card,so I couldn't take a taxi). NO ONE, I REPEAT, NO ONE WOULD ACCEPT A TIP! In fact the concierge at the MiraCosta smiled and gently admonished me with an understanding yet firm demeanor, "We do not have this custom". I was told that the Tokyo Cast Members are paid better than their Florida counterparts , so tips are not a necessity, but no one tips in Japan!
It was also the Cleanest place I have ever been in my life! Not a wrapper, not even a leaf could be seen on the grounds of the hotel or the theme parks. It was incredible. I will post a trip report on the trip reports board. Can anyone. tell me how to post photos?

Talk to everyone soon!

I can't wait to hear more about your trip!! I would love to visit DisneySea one day....it looks amazing!

I'm so looking forward to reading the whole report! My kids are enamored with Japan...that's a dream trip to us! :cloud9:
I have an account with Photobucket. You can download your pics on there first, then copy the img link onto your post here.

Can't wait to read your report and see your pics.

You need to have your photos uploaded to a web service like Photobucket.com, snapfish.com, etc. However, Kodak does not work.

Once you have uploaded them you will copy the URL, then click on the little yellow square that you will see in the editor when you are posting. Paste the URL into the box that appears. Depending on the size of the photos you upload, you may need to resize them to avoid posting huge pics!!!!
Once you do it one - it's easy -

I wish my wife and i can travel together in Tokyo one day!!
i heard the locals don't speak English that well though, is that true ?
can't wait to read more!!

If I can get the photos together I'll post later today. Terence your wedding site made me cry. Just beautiful. Congratulations!

There are more Japanese who speak some english, than you would expect, considering how few americans speak Japanese, but having said that, language is not really a problem. There are many many signs in English, all the rides for example, and as I have said before people will bend over backwards to help you. The MiraCosta is a very romantic hotel, and both parks would be a charming destination for couples. I do hope you and your lovely bride get a chance to go :)

Hi I heard about the hotel. I have seen some pictures from Japan fairy tale wedding website.

You know everything is pricey in Japan....i wish by the time we really go there...we at least take some pictures around that hotel even though we can't afford to live there

Once I finally post I'll include some hotel photos. You know the most expensive part of the trip was the airfare. Believe it or not, because of the relatively favorable exchange rate, if you go during value season its cheaper than a stay at the Grand Floridian! That includes meals and theme Park Admissions.

ohhhh I will be watching for you TR. It sounds like you had a great trip there. I would like to get there myself in the next 10 years.
