Alright Everyone, I was in DisneyWorld From August 11th - an unscheduled August 20th. (Details on that later). I can't remember enough details nor am I anywhere near enough of a talented writer to write a full blown trip report but I wanted to come back and let everyone know about the weather, the wait times, the food, and the rides in general. Anyone interested?

how much rain did you get? or was there little rain as compaired to places around WDW? thx

ohhhhh do tell!! im going next week and i would love to know about the food and the ride wait times and stuff!!

Alright to start off let me tell you guys a little bit about our travel party:
There's me, Kelly; my boyfriend (now fiance!) Adam; our two guy friends (and brothers) Nate and B; and our friend Cyndrah.

Ok now that I've got the introductions out of the way...
We arrived on August 11th and were scheduled to stay till August 19th (but Faye had other plans for us).
We stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter and were in the 7th building on the 3rd floor in rooms 7337, 7338, and 7339. We had an absolutely great view for only paying for a standard view.

Our flight took off at 9:20am August 11th and be arrived in Orlando a little after 11. We checked in with the Magical Express and only had to wait for a bus for maybe ten minutes at the most. We hopped on the bus and we were off.

Upon arrival to POFQ there was a bit of a line at the check in desk. A nice woman (I wish I could remember her name) came over from concierge, asked if we were all part of a group, and told us she could help us over at the concierge desk. She checked our reservations and...gasp we weren't all together. Nate and B's room and Cyndrah's room seemed to be right next to each other but seeing as how my boyfriend and I had done our reservations way more far in advance than the other three we guessed our request didn't get posted with theirs. No worries though, without even asking the woman got on the phone and got everything squared away to where we were all right next to each other. She gave everyone but myself 1st visit pins (seeing as how I'm the only one that had been to Disney before) and myself a birthday pin and announced we were on our way.

We had previously decided that we would all go to DisneyQuest and Downtown Disney on our first day just to get into the Disney spirit (like I wasn't already ) We had the park hopper water park fun and more tickets so we were all set. We hopped on a bus to Downtown Disney (we only had to wait but a few minutes for a bus our whole trip) and proceeded to browse, shop, and make our way to DisneyQuest.

Once in DTD I found my Mickey Ears of choice, the Pink Minnie Ears. Cyndrah bought the top hat (otherwise known as the groom ears hat) mickey ears. The boys had their hearts set on the Sorcerer Mickey Ears hat, but it was no where to be found in World of Disney.

I asked one of the women at World of Disney where I could get my ears embroidered and she told me to head down to the Disney Christmas store near the beginning of Disney Marketplace where I believe it was $8 dollars for my name to be embroidered. We were also informed at that time they were out of stock on the sorcerer ears but to check back as they got shipments in everyday. So we dropped my ears off and headed to Disney Quest.

All in all Disney Quest was quite a disappointment. The make your own roller coaster was cool (Cyberspace Mountain) but we became bored very quickly which is surprising considering the boys are huge video game players. But I'm sure this is something we will skip next time.

That's all I can fit in for now.
Next Post: More shopping and a Window Seat at Ohana for Wishes!
Plus coming soon...Animal Kingdom and the multiple trips to visit the Yeti.

Loving your report!

For someone who, "is not a talented writer," I think that you are doing an amazing job! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to hear more!

Love the pictures of POFQ. We are staying there next week. Waiting to hear more from you.

POFQ was great. We were in building 7 which is one of the furthest away from the main building but yet still a short walk away. Nothing was too far from anything. Housekeeping was great, everything always nice and clean. Food court was pretty good. Beignets were delicious and made fresh to order and half a dozen were only 1 snack credit. Anything else you want to know just ask.

Lets see where was I?

Pretty much we ended our day with more browsing and shopping. Since Adam and I were the only ones on the dining plan we had reservations everyday for dinner. The first night we had dinner at Ohana at the Polynesian hotel. This was a last minute choice and we are sure glad we made it. We caught a bus from DTD to the Polynesian and it only took about 20-30 minutes to get there with all the stops. Our reservation was for 8:30 and we arrived pretty early so we walked around outside and took in all the sights.

We checked in to Ohana and requested a window seat. I didn't expect much seeing as how it was kind of last minute. Finally our buzzer went off and we were lead by the hostess to the most perfect two top table right in front of the window and directly in front of the view of the castle. We really lucked out. Our waitress arrived and I really wish I remembered her name as well as she was awesome. I overheard a few other people on the waitstaff and they didnt seem to really enjoy being in character as much as our waitress did. She explained the dining plan to us. We both ordered just plan old ice tea to drink. Then soon enough the waitress brought out the salad which delicious. They brought out the pork dumplings, vegetables, lo mein noodles, and sticky wings. The wings were great, lots of meat on them and the sauce was really good. My boyfriend loved the pork dumplings and I thought they were good as well. All in all everything was good. Then they brought out the meats. The steak so was tender and delicious it almost tasted like filet. The pork was good as well but it was hard to top the steak. The turkey however was a little dry. The shrimp looked good but I was starting to get full and wanted to save room for dessert. Boyfriend said it was good though. Around this time the Electrical Water Pageant floated by which was nice. Our dessert arrived and it was heavenly. The Banana Fosters Bread Pudding was to die for. Not to mention right about this time Wishes began and they pumped the music into the restaurant. It was the perfect way to start a Magical Disney Vacation.

Just a side note...During dinner we received word from our friends that their luggage had successfully and safely arrived in their rooms. When we go back our luggage was in our rooms as well. I was hesitant at first to attach the yellow tags to our luggage but it really was nice not having to worry about lugging everything around with you and just letting Disney take care of everything. I would definitely recommend doing this.

Up next: First day in the parks, Animal Kingdom Magic, and a proposal :woohoo:
Stay Tuned.

popcorn:: You're doing a wonderful job! I love the POFQ pictures. And YAY for getting to go to O'hana!

Glad to hear you had such a good experience at Ohana - we enjoyed our meal there last year - my DW raved about the bread pudding dessert also!
