We just returned from four truly magical days at the Swan. Having never stayed at this resort before, we decided to take everyone's advice on these boards and try booking one of the deals through DU. We had a standard room that overlooked MGM's TOT. The room was immaculate and the staff was terrific. We began our stay offsite to be closer to a conference that I was attending, but if I had to do it all over again, I would have definitely booked the Swan for the entire stay. I was so impressed with every aspect of this resort and am eager to begin planning our next visit. Our only negative experience was an extremely rude bus driver (so uncharacteristic of Disney) as we were leaving Epcot.

I was wondering if you had a standard room and did it have a balcony? My SIL and I are staying there in October and are trying to find out what rooms have what views. What was your view like? I am glad you had a good time.
Thank you for your help.

We did not have a balcony. Our room was on the 9th floor and was very close to the elevator in the west wing of the resort. We had a view of ToT to the right and the water to the left. We were easily able to see the fireworks from Fantasmic (but not from Epcot.) I liked this location a lot.

KGM, just wondering if you joined SPG at www.starwood.com and if you recieved a comp upgrade? It is a free membership and many folks report some type of upgrade. Welcome back from the Swan!

Hi Muffy - I am a member of Starwood but didn't bother to ask for an upgrade because the hotel was totally sold out. Quite honestly, since this was our first visit to the Swan, it really didn't matter to me what room we got. I did not want to let myself wish for something that we might not get since I knew we had a standard room booked. As it turned out, our standard room view and accommodations were lovely. I really liked being so close to the elevator. The other thing I liked was the separate vanity outside the bathroom. I think I read on these boards that the Dolphin does not have these.
