We had a lovely stay at the Polynesian from 11-30 through 12-7. We stayed in Fiji and loved it. Our room was 3309 and it faced Luau Cove. We were treated to a full view of the beach and a partial view of the lagoon. We could see most of the Grand Floridian and could watch the monorail coming and going. Although we had a bit of a walk to get to the Great Ceremonial House and pool...you must walk the length of the longhouse to go around the marina because 3309 is the second to last room in the longhouse, we gladly traded it for the privacy of the room and of this beach. It was great to have only a short walk downstairs to watch the fireworks with no one else around. The drums from the Luau could clearly be heard through our closed patio doors, but they gave alot of atmosphere. The room was comfortable and spacious. The cast members were always helpful and welcoming. We'd certainly return to this resort if given the chance. I'd love to see the torch lighting ceremony one more time and to get to stay in the Volcano Pool a little longer...it wasn't really great pool weather during our stay, but I made sure I went down the slide at least once even though I was freezing. If anyone has any questions I'd be happy to answer whatever I can. Barbara

Welcome Back!

We have wanted to stay at the Poly for a while. It sounds so fun!:D

Glad to hear you enjoyed the Poly!

Welcome back from one of my favorite resorts!

The atmosphere is just wonderful, isn't it?

Hello all.

Yes we had a wonderful time at the Polynesian. I felt like we were back in Hawaii, I just wish the temperatures had cooperated with us. We did get to enjoy the pool one day, but it was just too cold for anymore. The rest of the resort made up for it though....the Neverland Club was a terrific distraction during the afternoon, (free movies and games with parental supervision from 1-4pm), the Arcade and the restaurants were great. I wish we were back right now especially since we have 8 inches of snow here freshly dumped last week as well as 20 degree temperatures. I've been trying to upload pictures here, but it doesn't seem to work. If you know how I did take some views from the room. Barbara

Welcome home and thanks for the review! :) I was at the GF up until 12/5--probably bumped into you on the monorail! LOL

Thanks Misti,
We probably did ride the same monorail....we may have even seen each other at the GF. We ate a dinner at 1900 Park Fare one night (we were a little disappointed with the food...not as good as last year). In addition, during our stay my DH would take our DS and darling nephew on adventures to allow the Moms to relax a little....one adventure included a walk from the Polynesian to the GF along the beach. My darling nephew says he's going to stay there the next trip we go on. I hope he does, because that means I'll be with him. I love the other Disney resorts, but You can't beat the convenience of the monorail. Barbara
