Katie had aunt flo (shhhhhhh) so she was anti-social almost the whole time and didn't go to the club much.

Jennifer's "auntie flo" came on the last day, in the morning as we were leaving the ship. :guilty:

We did have an awsome time! We got to the dolphin discovery at 11:30am to check in and it started to pour buckets. But our "encounter" and "Royal Swim" didn't start till 3:30pm so we went to the beach via their cattle car and had lunch under a thatched roof restaurant right on the beach. As we were finishing, the sun came out and me and ds 13 went snorkeling which was neat. The beach there is rocky and there is no real beach where you can enter just to play in the waves, so beware. It's 90% a snorkeling beach, except for one smal area we only discovered as we walked back to the dolphin area. Take note, don't try to use your American Express card for the excursion since they are having issues with their system. It's a long story, but we ended up paying cash which was very frustrating since we didn't want to use our cash at that point. But both the encounter and royal swim was great and fun and I think, worth it. DH and I had done it in Xcaret a few years ago and it wasn't as good, they didn't give you enough time with the dolphins. Hope you book it direct, I think it is cheaper than thru DCL.

Thanks for the endorsement! I just got off the phone with Miguel and booked the Encounter at 3:30. The best part was that he gave me a promotion and our three year old is free. My only concern is making it back to the ship. What time did the ship leave Cozumel? Did it take you long to get back?

Let's see, it started about 3:30 and ended about 4:30 but we went inside and watched the video they took of us (and bought them, $29 and $59) and looked at all the pictures they took (and spent $100 on them too) and we got in a cab right out front about 5:15 and was back at the ship in 15 mins or so. Miguel was very nice and didn't charge my 3 yo. either. Also, if he sends you an email to confirm, watch out for the coupon attached which is good for $$$ off of pictures/videos. Take the confirmation with you just to be on the safe side, they are still unorganized as they just re-opened. Have a blast!

What time did the ship leave? We are on the 10/14 Double Dip Cruise, and "all aboard" time for Cozumel is listed as 5:30 p.m.!! Also, did you guys do the Encounter and the Royal Swim at the same time? How did that work out? We have 1 adult and 1 child that want to do the Royal Swim and 3 adults and 3 children (under 8) that want to do the Encounter. I really want to book, but am having fears of being left behind!!

Also, how did the park look? I was also concerned that things would still be in a lot of disrepair from the hurricane.

Thanks for sharing!!

I just looked at my navigator and it says the last tender was at 6pm, so I think the ship pulled out of the dock right after that. We did the royal swim and the encounter at the same time, 3:30pm, it worked out great because we were in the same part of the water and I was able to take pics. of the older ones with the dolphins. I'd post them now but they were taken with my disposable water camera and I haven't gotten the pics yet. I wouldn't worry about being left behind, as I said, there was plenty of time to get back to the ship. We took our time watching the video and looking at pictures. I would ask Miguel to book you all at the same time, it was great all being in the water at the same time. The park was still being fixed from the hurricane. If you've ever been to Mexico, you'll understand how slow thing take there. The beach was fine, but they were doing a lot of construction in the main area as you arrive. Nothing got in the way of the activities (snorkling, beach area, restaurant etc.) though, so relax and have fun!

We too did DD on our own. We had a group of 14. We were doing the whole encounter during the torrential downpour. The photographer/videographer couldn't come out in the rain so they let us get our water cameras to take pictures. I figure we saved about $300 in pictures there because I would have bought every picture and video made.

I wish we knew we had to pay extra $12 to get to DD through Chankanaab. We didn't have tons of cash (no credit cards) and thankfully Mom and Dad brought travellers checks with them. Wasn't it fun to use the bathrooms via trucks? Not. They were very gracious and happy to have everybody there. I felt bad because there was so many of us and I think only 1 remembered to bring a towel and were dripping from the rain.

Do you have any tips for crusing with an almost 2 year old? Our DD will be 22 months on our cruise. We cruised with her at 12 months but as I am sure you are aware a lot changes in 10 months. ;)

Thanks!

Thanks for the pics! Your cruise sounded perfect! My kids would love to see that!
