Just back from the Grand Hotel,MI

The Grand Hotel is wonderful! My DH and I stayed there for our 13th wedding anniversary three years ago on points and it was magical. Keep in mind that the themed suites and the common areas are the only places that are air-conditioned and it can get hot in the middle of the summer. We were there the first part of August and it was very warm in our room in the afternoon, when we were trying to get dressed for dinner. They do provide a fan for the window and our room looked out over the front of the hotel, so we got a very nice breeze in the evening and over night. The period atmosphere is very nice and the meals were wonderful!

It is well worth the points and a great place to take the family.

Thanks for the report! We hope to do this sometime. The movie "Somewhere in Time" has a very special meaning to DH and me. We consider it "our movie".

I was thrilled to see we could use points there. It is a lot of points, but we might just have to splurge some time. I had thought about doing it for our 25th wedding anniversary which will be in 2007....so that gives me time to save up points.

Your review of the Grand Hotel agrees with our experience staying on points at the Grand.

Although it was a lot of points, it was well worth it.

We had a great room, the service was excellent, and the meals were wonderful. The Grand Pecan Ball for dessert was worth the trip.

Highly recommended!

There sure are a lot of nice people who write nice responses on this board!

It looks like we're moving to Michigan from my beloved Florida, so we won't be too far from the there, either.

It's only open certain times of year, right? When does it close?
