Congratualtions again....

I was the woman who took you picture at Palo's that evening. My DH and I were celebrating our 14th anniversary on 8/19.

We booked the 8/21 cruise for next year, maybe we will see you again then. This will be our 15th anniversay gift to each other.

Good luck to you.

Disney3144, I had the same server and assistant server as you and your family did. Plamen and Mihaela. We had early seating, table 30. Did you have early or late seating?:D

For the bug bites. Someone told me that they were called NoSeeUms(I am really not sure how to spell it). I got a lot of them on my legs and a few on my arms. I was hoping I wasn't the only one.:(

wow its seems DCL is really pushing the 8/21 cruise. Are they giving any great prices on the cruise on board

Hi everyone!

I've been wanting to post, but I can't seem to get back into the swing of things. Between the mountains of laundry, getting ready for back to school and DS's birthday on Monday I'm feeling a little overwhelmed.

Congratulations Jennifer! How romantic and sweet.

Happy Birthday Jason! Thank you for all the work you did on the website, it was very helpful.

Sarah, Thank you for the lanyards, they were a wonderful surprise.

Before I tell the next two stories, let me say that we had a fantastic cruise and I would go again next week if I could.

Now about my credit card. When we returned to our stateroom Friday night after dinner, there was a voice mail message from the finance dept. They said that there was a problem with the credit card the we had given them and to please go to guest services and our earliest convenience to apply a different form of payment. Twice before while we were on vacation we've had our card declined because we were using it out of state. We would just call the 800 # and let them know that we were on vacation and everything would be fine. I assumed that this was what had happened this time also. DH went down to guest services and they said that the card was being declined. They then dialed the 800# and handed the phone to DH. He was automatically transferred to the fraud dept. They told him that someone had called to change the address on the account. They only changed the house number, everything else street, city etc. were the same. BTW there isn't a house by that number on our street. They also requested a credit line increase and wanted to do a balance transfer of $12,226 from another card. The person had given them a cell phone number. The credit card company called the number to ask them the security information. The person who answered the phone could barely speak English and couldn't answer any of the security questions so they immediately put a hold on the card. Obviously DH was able to answer the questions so we were able to pay our cruise expenses with it. Anytime we wanted to use the card we had to call the 800# and give them a password before they would give authorization. We were lucky that no charges were made and it was nothing more than an inconvenience. Other than giving DCL the credit card information on the payment authorization form, we only used the card to buy the DVD at Captain Marvins on the 19th. According to the credit card company the address change and other requests took place on the 20th. If you bought the video or dvd check with you credit card company to make sure that everything is as it should be.

We did have one other incident on Saturday. This involved our stateroom host. After disembarking DD and I waited on a bench outside the terminal while DH and DS went to pick up the rental car. While waiting it occured to me that I never packed my lanyard that Sarah had given me. On it I had the castaway club pin and a DCL pin that I bought while on the ship. I had left it hanging on one of the lights by the mirror during the cruise. There was the possibility that DH had taken it down and packed it, but I really didn't think that was the case. I sent DD into the terminal to tell a cast member that we thought we had left something in the room. The person she spoke with radioed someone to go check the room. The lanyard was right where we said, but the pins were gone. I was furious thinking that our stateroom host, you know, the one we had just left a generous tip, had possibly taken them. When DH arrived I explained what had happened. He went into the terminal and said very nicely I need you to make the rest of my day magical. He explained what happened and Debbie from security said if we can't find the pins then we'll make a trip to the store and get new ones. On the way to the store she said why don't we check the room first, just to make sure they're not there. When they got to the room our stateroom host was there cleaning it. DH confronted him and said "You took our pins! Where are they?" Our stateroom host became a bit frazzled and went over to his cleaning cart and took them out of a drawer. Debbie then took DH down to guest services to take his tip off of our bill. She encouraged DH write a letter to Disney and gave him the appropriate address. She said that she will also be reporting the incident. Debbie was very nice and even gave DH a stuffed Mickey and Minnie for DD. She said she didn't want DD to think that Disney was not safe. After this happened we started wondering about the whole credit card incident. I kept my credit card, drivers license and medical insurance card in the top drawer nearest the door for most of cruise. He could have very easily taken the number, our address and of course our medical ins. card has my husbands social security number on it. We will probably never know.

Hello! It took me the better part of the past hour to figure this out, but here are a couple of group shots from our trip. Gotta refresh my computer skills! Enjoy!

Nanci: we sail on the Wonder the week after you. Sorry we will miss seeing you!

Lisa & Jim: glad to hear that you arrived home safely. It was so nice meeting you and your family!

Linda1: We really enjoyed meeting you and your family. DH says hello! We have a nice picture of you, your daughter and Buckaroo. Please send me an email and I will email it to you.

If anyone would like a copy of any of the group photos, please let me know. I can either email you the photo(s) or upload the photos (better resolution copies) onto my server and send you the links.

Sarah--

Thanks for the pictures (both the ones on the thread and the ones you e-mailed)! They really turned out quite well and it was a great idea to get everyone together in their formal wear. We all look so elegantl! Just like we belong on the Magic! :)

Linda1--

So glad to see that you had a chance to hit the Dis Boards. I'm so sorry that you experienced those difficulties during your cruise but I'm happy to see you didn't let it negatively affect your whole trip. Travis had problems with his credit card on out last Eastern cruise. We had rented a car in St. Maarten with his Disney Visa and two months later we got a statement with about $1000 in charges on it. As it turns out, someone in NY was buying suits and electronics with the card! As we tried to figure out where someone could have taken the number, we remembered that they guy at the rental car place had taken the card out of our site for quite some time. We will make sure that that never happens again! :(

Mjasp--

I think that the $400.00 onboard credit was offered for the August 21st trip but I don't think it had the cheapest rates. We looked into that one as well and it was (as I recall) much more than the $799 rates offered for the September 4th date. Perhaps because school is still out? Time of year?

Jason - I can't take credit for the formal night idea. It was Hannosmom's idea and a great one it was! Sorry my computer skills are not up putting up a website (it took me a while to remember how to FTP). I just checked with DCL and the price difference between the 8/21 and 9/4 cruise is $100 for 2 adults. We're booked on the 8/21 cruise. Will you consider joining us? It would be so much fun!

Speaking of Travis....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRAVIS!!!

Hope it's a great one.

AHA!!

I knew something didn't seem right when I typed that.

Thanks Jason!! I think I got it right now. Leave it to you to notice that! :p

I don't know if anyone tried to view my pictures, but the link wasn't correct. It is fixed now.

Linda -

those are great pictures. Thank you for sharing them with us. Your family seems to have had a wonderful vacation as did we...

I just wanted to let you guys know that we are taking our honeymoon cruise on 8/21/04. This will definately be without the kids.;) It looks as if we'll be seeing a few of you then.:D Can't wait.
