Chris--

GREAT to hear from you! Seems like it's been forever! ;)

How is the Eastern going so far? We were watching the Magic as she sailed out of the port on the port cam and it looked like rain for a little bit. Hope it clears up for you.

Check your e-mail when you get a chance. I've e-mailed you all of our info again.

It really was a MAGICal cruise. Met some super people, had a blast each day. Just wishing I was still there...... The next one can't come soon enough.

Hello Fellow cruisers!

We just got home!

We had a fabulous cruise and we too booked our next cruise while on the ship. We booked September 8th, 2004.

It was really great to get to meet everyone and I hope some of the group pictures taken turn out.

I was one of the screamers at the Stingray City Excursion. It was well worth the money and we highly recommend it.

I felt that the glass bottom boat excursion Disney offered in Key West was a waste of money. Too many people and not enough room to view.

The rain in Castaway Cay was ok with me it cooled things off alittle bit and it really didn't make a difference a far as we were concerned.

We made a lot of friends that I am sure we will keep in contact with forever. As a matter of fact our dinner companions were so great and we hit it off so well that they booked the same cruise for next September and we linked our reservations so that we could be dinner mates again.

Last night at the farewell variety show I had tears in my eyes because I was so sad to leave, even knowing that we will be back next year.

What can I say, Disney did it again another great Cruise!

Lyn

Whoops I missed this thread and posted in the old one. Oh well, we're back and we had fun. I'll talk more tomorrow.

Hey there Jason, Travis, Sarah, Ashley (Lil' Lilo), Lynn (we saw you at the airport today) and everyone else (sorry I don't name you by name, I'm REALLY tired but am thinking of each and every one of you)...

We FINALLY made it home after a loooonnnngggg 18 hour day of flights, lay overs and shuttling back and forth - not the best day...

I have to say I have been fighting back the tears all day today as well. Sitting in the airport for 5 hours was really tough as we watched the staff from the DCL escorting the guests from the airport Hyatt to the buses for the Eastern cruise...so badly wanted to turn around and stow-a-way... I'm fighting the depression as we speak!

Just to add a few comments on this thread...if given a chance to go to a Dis meet, DO IT!! It was so nice to meet everyone that has been posting for months prior - as I told our dinner companions (who just happened to be Jason and Travis whom we enjoyed getting to know very much) having the Dis board members onboard and meeting them gives you something that the rest of the cruisers don't have - it's almost like travelling with a group of people although you are not. We're extremely glad we did and hope to stay in contact with everyone.

Buckaroo's Dad is a VERY nice guy and it was nice to see him spending so much time with his son. We ran into both of them numerous times and he was always very pleasant even when none of us won the Bingo jackpot. A very nice guy!

Philip (from Croatia) and Shantol were awesome. Very attentive, very friendly and though very busy, always willing to do whatever it takes. We were extremely impressed and very lucky to have them at our table.

To correct ONLY one thing that Jason mentioned. The people at Guest Services DID refund Castaway Cay excursions - with no questions asked - due to the rain situation. We decided to use the rain time to pack and since it continued longer than we thought and because everything was already soaked, we decided not to go back to the island since it was getting late. We didn't even ask for a refund of the Banana Boat (sad we missed it though) but when they saw we had it booked, they immediately refunded it and mentioned that they refunded MANY excursions that day. In my opinion it was superior customer service that they even offered to do such a thing as I am one of those in 100% agreement that Disney is not responsible for the weather.

We miss all of you so much already, can't believe how fast the 10 days went and can't wait to do it again. We were originally going to wait until the Christmas 2005 cruise but I don't think I can wait that long....we'll see.

Don plans on joining the Dis boards very soon - Travis, you can look for the "member name" you suggested...I think it fits!

I just want to mention that DCL does not refund prebooked excursions when you are on the trip if you change your mind. They will exchange it for another excursion, they will cancel due to weather but you can not just cancel if you change your mind. My brother and his wife did not like the Fury Catarmaran in Key West so they tried to cancel a later one. They were unable to do so without paying more money so they kept it. I didn't realize you couldn't cancel once you are on the ship.

Welcome back everyone!!! I can't wait for our first cruise, even though it is over a year away!!

It sounds like everyone had a great time!!

Great to see everyone is making it home safely and is slowly checking in! Hello Lyn, Scott, Don, CGBatch, and everyone else! :)

As far as the whole refund thing goes, I was refering not to excursions but to the cost of the whole cruise! I was at Guest Services at 7:00 AM on Saturday, just before breakfast, and the "guest" in front of me was actually demanding that she receive a TOTAL refund for the cost of her cruise because "it was ruined when she had to stay inside all day Friday due to the rain at Castaway Cay!" When they told her there was nothing that they can do to control the weather, she actually suggested that they should have went somewhere else instead of Castaway Cay to avoid the rain and to avoid ruining the vacation!

I really couldn't fathom how people could actually think like this. I was VERY pleased to hear them finally tell her that she would not receive a refund and that it is not the policy of Disney Cruise Lines to make such refunds!

:jester: I mean really! Who would think such things! :jester:

That is unbelievable!!! Some people, what they won't do for a buck. Ridiculous to think you could get a refund for rain.

WOW,

I wish I knew that DCL was issuing refunds for CC excursions on the rain day. We had alot planned and ran out of time, since the rain storm delayed our plans...I didn't get to use the bikes.

I never thought to ask for a refund, since DCL can't control the weather. Maybe I will call them and see if they will consider attaching the paid bike rentals to our next trip. If not, no big deal

thanks for the idea.

It was truly a pleasure meeting many of the DIS members on the 8/16 cruise. We did not attend the "official" DIS meet on Saturday but met many throughout our time on ship and at Stingray City. Jason, Travis, Linda1, Buckaroo's Dad, El Tigre, etc thank you all for making it seem so much more comfortable even if it was just a wave or a smile (my apologies if anyone was excluded). Lynr's husband and son were great conversation mates on the way out to Stingray City (we even spotted a sea turtle from the tower thanks to our observant captain!). Thoroughly enjoyed our ATV excursion in Cozumel with Buckaroo's Dad and El Tigre and families. I am sure BD will have a funny story to tell of his and his son's experience on the ATV's.

Great time, great ship, great food and great people made this a very magical vacation.

So tell us all about BD. Was he a wallflower or his witty internet self?

We had a very pleasant conversation with BD on the Captain Marvin's Stingray City Tour. He's a very nice guy and his devotion to his son and mother is obvious to anyone.

We were pleased to discover that his mother (also a very lovely person) lives not too far from us and his nephews take karate at the same studio where my children practice. Both of my children know his nephews and I frequently sit in the lobby area and chat with his SIL! What a small world!

It was great to meet all the DISers at the meet on Saturday and then to see them on the ship all week! I'm glad to see that everyone arrived home safely. We met many cruisers at the airport as we waited for our 6:30pm flight from MCO to PHL. It was so nice to talk with them as we waited for our rain-delayed flight. It helped to pass the time and also made it seem like the cruise lasted just a little bit longer.

Unfortunately, I now need to face the reality of a mountain of dirty laundry that needs my attention. The price to be paid for a very fun and relaxing trip!

That is COMPLETELY unbelievable. To think that the ONLY day we had rain was on Friday and they wanted a total refund is unbelievable. Did she forget about the room she stayed in, the food she ate and the entertainment she saw (just to mention a few things). Good for DCL for saying no although I'm surprised they were able to keep a straight face!!!

Jason -

something we forgot to mention before you left the breakfast table yesterday....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

Hope you had a pleasant one (minus the end of cruise depression)

Happy birthday Jason.......

You should have made this better known so we could have had another reason to celebrate on the cruise!

Also, thanks for all the organization and effort that you put into the web site and links for the 8/16 cruisers.

Sorry we will miss you next year!!!! We will let you know how the new Eastern itinerary is, since I think we will cruise before you next year.

thanks and happy belated birthday!
