Just back from SW Meet!

We've just got home from Tetbury, Gloucestershire. Had a great SW meet (our first SW meet actually!!)

A great time appeared to be had by all - a clean sweep by two different Stringer/Bonner teams during the daytime quizzes, with Deb and Matt winning the evening quiz.

And the skittles was great fun in the evening!

Our thanks to Kev and Tam, too for organising another great SW meet. Whatever did we do before the internet? Not only is the answer to virtually anything only a click away, but we can organise our own holidays and, best of all, meet wonderful people from all over the World (and many of us really have done that thanks to the DIS).

It was great to see several of our friends yesterday and to meet Nic, Simon, Sue and Pete and to get to know you a little bit too. I hope you'll be sharing more of your wedding plans with us here before November.

Oh, and I have to say that, despite being on the losing team, it was great to see Tam in glorious last minute defeat of Kev in the skittles!

BIG thanks to Kev and Tam for organising yet another successful SW Meet, and an equally huge thank you to Deb and Matt for doing the afternoon quiz (even though it was very difficult for some of us !).

I wish I could have stayed for the evening as well, as I'm sure you all had a great time skittling, but at least I didn't have to face the prospect of another defeat then as well!

It was good to meet old friends and new, and I'm already looking forward to next year's meet.

Just to make it clear, I allowed Tam to get one more than me to win the skittles in a selfless and chivalrous act. I'm good like that.

Just wanted to add my thanks to this: -


To Kev for sorting out the whole thing, venue, cheap beer and skittles and getting hot bowls of chips chucked in my lap!

To Tam for organising some superb food and playing the "killer shot" enabling our team to win the skittle contest!

To Matt and Deb for organising some very sneaky quiz questions.

Meeting up with Nic, Simon, Sue and Pete, who must've wondered what they'd let themselves in for!

Finally meeting up with Hilary - (It's just Kaylee to go now and I've met the full set).

And once again for Shirley for all the help and support over the years.

On a final note - It's given us an new area to discover for weekends away as Gloucestershire is only a 2 hour drive away and very picturesque.

The only thing I didn't do was to visit Quedgely in all it's glory

(Old joke about the Quedgely Inquirer or some such local paper).

LOL, Shaun! I think Quedgeley's only claim to fame must be that it's the only town in Gloucestershire which isn't picturesque! Apart from being the subject of the lauded Quedgeley News, of course.
