Just back from SSR!

We just spent a week at SSR. I have to admit I wasn't thrilled. It was "okay", but is definately not my favorite.

Some observations:

First, our room had these little bugs. They were little white flying things they looked like mini moths. Not much bigger than nats, but white. They didn't seem to care at all that we were complaining about them. Like it was part of the room decor. We had them the entire week on the table, on the walls, occassionally seen on the bed, eww. I squished as many as I could. They didn't seem to bite us or anything, but it really irked me that noone CARED they were in my room!

Cribs.... If you are requesting a crib pleaseplease please clean it! There were 3 cribs "stored" in the TRASH ROOM right next to where everyone was to dump trash! We didn't need a crib, but thats just disgusting to me. I would not want my baby sleeping on a matress thats been stored in the trash room! Surely they could find a better storage area?

The pools were nice. Everything was kept clean. I didn't really dig the theme, or lack of. It was just okay. I would stay there again, but it was definately not my favorite. It will be my last resort resort....

I did love the flatbreads at the artisan. The homemade chips were delish!

My kids loved the frogs, but well.... they are all over FL....


Just my random thoughts on SSR....

We weren't overly thrilled with SSR either, and my DH is from 45 mins from Saratoga Springs in NY. He was really disappointed with the theming. He thought they could have done a much better job at it.

Although I thought the living space was really tight in the 1 and 2bd's. That is what we really disliked about it.

Sorry you didn't enjoy your stay at SSR. We love everything about it.

We stayed at SSR last December and loved it so much that we are going back this December. Sounds like we will see you there 5 for WDW.

Although I thought the living space was really tight in the 1 and 2bd's. That is what we really disliked about it.

Other than the larger villas at OKW, aren't the 1BR and 2BR villas at SSR the same size (roughly) as BWV, BCV & VWL? They seemed so to me. I suppose if you had a "full house" of 8 people in the 2BR it could be tight quarters.

We have stayed at SS twice. While not my favorite DVC property, we liked it pretty well. We were in a villa across from Downtown Disney. The first time we stayed, we walked to our Villa. It was raining moderately but we had umbrellas and thought we would be okay. However, we got lost, took a left when we should have taken a right. Took just over 30 minutes to find our villa. By the time we did, our shoes were soaked and clothes were pretty wet. In retrospect, it was pretty funny, but at the time we were not smiling.

My friend and I are just back from SSR. We had a lovely time dispite the fact that I got really sick while on vacation. We stayed in a studio in the Paddock section with a waterview, the building right by the bridge. It was very convenient and very quiet. SSR is me and my husband's favorite DVC resort. We love everything about it! I would love to add on someday.

It's our first trip home in Dec too

Infact we've started making our ADRs, so far we have got most of the ones we wanted

We have not stayed there in a while, but the same thing happened to us! The signage could be a little better; it is a very big resort!
